John Lennon. I know, laame...
It was during preparatory school(the eq. of highschool), and it was because they joked about me being "a rebel"(even in spanish that sounds stupid) and didn't cut my hair to comply with the school norms when in truth I was just being totally lazy. Not very scholarly, I know.
When I finally came around and totally shaved my head they changed their tune to "skinhead"(eskinjed, which is how a spanish speaker with bad accent pronounces it).
You just can't win, can you?
Once my hair grew back it switched back to Lennon once more. Yay...

My brother for years called me CaCa because he could not pronounce Connor.
Also, I am called McLovin and Harry Potter because somehow I look like them both.

First day of highschool, I walk to my 4th period class, drama. I walk in and sit down and the bell rings. A minute later a stoner walks in. I could tell just from how he talked and acted and stuff that he was one, but he noticed me also. He looks at me and just goes, "Holy shit it's John Lennon." I just turned and said "What?". Apparently because of my hair and glasses, I can look quite a bit like him and it stuck for the rest of the year. In fact, most people heard my name before they met me and would be like "Oh! You're John Lennon!". It wasn't bad and I actually came to enjoy it. Almost no one calls me it now though.
Probably "woosh" would have to be the dumbest name nickname I have ever had.
How did it come about? well, in school in Spanish class, a clever student and friend of mine discovered that if you pronounce my name (Josh) as if it were spanish (the J in spanish sounds like an H) it would sound like "woosh".

I'm IN freaking middle school!
At the last kitchen I worked in it morphed from Date to Dot to Diddy, to Did, to Diz, to Dizzle, to Grill *****. Dizzle was the main one that stuck though. Kinda dumb and drove me nuts for awhile, but it grew on me.
