so the big portion of the game is without kinect then? and you have to switch between during game?
because i don't know of any way one could make a kinect game that is not on rails
though i'd have no problem if someone enlightens me in that matter

I'll at least give him credit for apologizing.

Microsoft probably just wanted more to show for Kinect (that actually functioned properly) and asked Peter to whip up something for them. Stupid mistake on his part, though, I've never been a fan of the series anyway.
I really, really want to know where your avatar is from.

I honestly don't get where all the hate for Molyneux is coming from. I mean sure, he seems to always promise more than is possible, but all of his games are at least above average (Black & white blew my mind when it came out and Fable games just ooze charm). And I have to say, from what i' ve seen The Journey looks way better than any other kinect game so far.

Get Molyneux some legos and get someone who knows how to make a game fun to work on the next fable game.
Given the last time this guy played with Lego he came up with Populous I fully support this suggestion ;)

And let us never forget that Peter has had a huge impact on humanity, if only with his invention of dogs -

But, seriously, I've been sick of his promises ever since I bought Black and White. I can't help feel that he's locked into trying to add new elements to games that use pretty traditional styles these days. It'd be nice to see him go back to his roots, find a great idea and just run with it.

And by great idea I don't mean - 'Hey isn't Red Dead Redemption popular? That had horses... Hey I've invented something called a horse! Come on guys, let me tell you all about it.'

I would honestly not be surprised if he's got you moving analogue sticks with your feet. At least I hope he'd still consider doing something that mental ;)

He seems to be a nice guy, but I am struggling to believe this is all just him being incredibly ambitious anymore.

If you make something that disappoints people, the best thing you can do is say you messed up and say how you'll improve upon it. Molyneux does that, only every single time.

People are still buying in to it though so its obviously working.

I would like Black and White 3, where they lock Peter in a room with a huge development team, put a gag in his mouth, and have him direct them solely by writing on a big whiteboard. That way he can think things through before he says them, stop irritating us, and really make something a lot of people want to see.

Fable 2 felt like it was made for morons, and Fable 3 is supposedly even more "accessible" (read: for stupid people). Make something complex and interesting, and bloody get on with it!
In full agreeal with you there.
In the first game you had a fun character development system, you often had fights that, while not being difficult, at least gave some sense of challenge and the magic system was so much more varied! I've never forgiven his taking the teleport spell out of the game. Nothing more exhilarating than being a tall, bearded muscular warrior in full plate armour, wielding a rune-covered to handed sword all while telporting behind all over the battlefield.

Molyneux isn't ambitious, and hasn't been for a long time. He just enjoys bullshitting people into believing that his games are original in any way (I mean Fable 2 and 3, Black and White was great. Not so much the second one though...). I mean, what kind of boring regency was that in Fable 3?

This. Also, I would like to add that there's no way to make a game more forgettable to me than to attach the Fable name to it.

He made it on rails so the demo wouldn't screw up.

Look what happened to Skyward Sword at the Nintendo Press Cofrence last year.

It still looks coll to me atleast.

Peter just needs to realise he needs to stop making Fable. It had it's time - the first game. Now each game is just progressively getting worse and worse. He needs to unplug the life support from poor, mangled Fable and just let it die.
The first game was great, the second way okay (closer to bad than good though), third was awful, fourth doesn't even look appealing this time.

I stopped taking anything Peter says at face value after he over-promised on Fable and it didn't deliver half of what he claimed. Fable was still a fun game, but not even close to being the big open world of adventure he'd talked up.

Did anyone notice that Fable 3's storyline was a big display about how in the real world it's hard to keep your promises! Lol Peter if that's the case STOP MAKING THEM in the first place.

Really he has always sabotaged his own games by overhyping them and now he is backpeddeling away from a demo that his own company organised.

We get shown the demo nothing else, what exactly did he think people were going to assume about the game?

Well, if nothing else it's refreshing for someone to admit failure right off the bat, and I'll take terribly misguided ambition over no ambition any day.
