Welp, this is going to turn into another Oblivion situation... Only thing is, that series has done full frontal nudity before, and didn't make an effort to cover it up in the previous games before Oblivion, and secondly it's kind of a given that nudity fits that series if you look into its history and lore.
Have you ever heard of a little film called Antichrist? [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0870984/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1] Just.... Throwing that out there, to fill your Dafoe nudity needs.
OT: I feel bad for Ellen Page, though I only have the demo of Beyond: Two Souls to go by, but I am a little more worried the moment someone like Fox News gets word on this and runs with it, It will set video games back, because 'Oh Noes! Nudity is in video games my childrens play, and developers R pervertz!"
It's not going to be the Hot Coffee Mod, it's going to be worse, considering Cage had paid somebody to design this.
Sadly, it will become a game that people will buy, expecting boobs and whatever else, which will probably boost the games sales, sales I feel it really doesn't need, but that's just me.
My dislike of Ellen Page is fighting with my tendency to download anything some corporate lawyer tries to force off the Internet without reason. I never thought I'd be this conflicted about downloading nudes. Unerotic low-quality anatomically-suspect nudes, but still.
Ah, well, if I downloaded something from TotalBiscuit just because it got DMCA'd, I can extend the same tolerance to Page. Off to the 34 sites I go....
Seriously, this is classic fair use, and Sony is breaking the law by issuing these takedown notices. Somebody needs to countersue. Now Sony may or may not be in trouble with Ellen Paige's lawyers for the model being, er, fully functional to begin with, but that has no bearing on what the consumers are doing.
So I took a look at it and honestly, it's just a naked cgi women in the shower. Nothing really exciting about it so yeah, then again I could just not care seeing how I have framed hentai hanging on my wall.
I love everything to do with David Cage's games. They're always such clusterfucks of bad storytelling, poor design, and uninspired pseudo-occult bullshit. You're never bored with them! They're just too awful to be bored with. This is just the cherry on top of his latest Shit Sundae.
Honestly though, I'm not surprised by this. Seriously, not at all. Has everyone forgotten Cage's last nightmare of an "experience", Heavy Rain, where we're introduced to our female protagonist by ogling her in the shower for a disturbingly long time, and then we get to watch her get assaulted by a bunch of masked men and... frankly, possibly raped?
It's a dream sequence but that doesn't make the whole thing entirely disturbing, and NOT for the reasons the designers wanted it to be.
I just watched a let's play video of this game and I found the story to be amazing and the characters to be sympathetic and engaging. It has about as much actual game play as a Choose Your own Adventure book but I still very much enjoyed it.
My issue with this whole this is that she does horrible things in this game, game spoilers below
She kills countless people, murders a young boy's father, gets almost raped, possesses people to force them into to killing their friends and then themselves and tries to kill herself numerous times because being haunted by Aiden the spirit she's attached to has ruined her life and driven away everyone she's ever cared about,
But all that, no one bats an eye. Show her naked and all hell breaks loose.
I am a little more worried the moment someone like Fox News gets word on this and runs with it, It will set video games back, because 'Oh Noes! Nudity is in video games my childrens play, and developers R pervertz!"

The uproars about sex in games seem to be dying down. There's been several games within the past couple of years that featured explicit nudity, for example Heavy Rain and Witcher 2, but there was no controversy.
Brilliant move on Sony's part. Fake outrage at customers uncovering "hidden" nudity drums up free press while said nudity prevents customers from selling the title back to Gamestop.
Ellen Paige's contract will have clauses about unauthorised nudity/demeaning content (I mean, more demeaning than being the face of a Quantic Dream game). Putting 'her' nudey body into the game and then making it accessible, even by back door (no sniggering) means probably has entire armies of lawyers springing up out the ground like Spartoi.
I found it and they actually didn't render her vagina at all. It's total barbie doll down there. So, unless they are a different set of images, this article isn't true. Who cares if her nipples are showing besides the American censor board?
Has Cage ever made a game with a female character that didn't involve a gratuitous shower scene?... Omikron, maybe- and if so, probably only because the character fidelity was about at a Virtual Fighter 1 level...
Honestly, yes, I can definitely understand why Ellen Page might be very angry about this. I don't think she's ever done a nude scene in her film career, and didn't sign on to do one for this one. The fact that it isn't "really" her doesn't make it any less of a breach of trust. The companies associated with the game have definitely gone out of their way to highlight her presence in the game as a selling point, to imply that her acting gave the whole a reality and a depth that wouldn't have been present otherwise.
She's now effectively discovered that a scene that was supposed to be discrete was actually filmed at different angles than what was discussed and included in Easter Egg footage.
