Oh for God sake, all these threads of music on The Escapist are a joke. Hardcore punk is just a sub genre of rock and all these stupid genres and sub genres are just laughable
The minute they stop is the minute I think alot of people are going to get a hell of a lot happier

Something about a man who wants a Hardcore Punk thread being made while having a picture of a smiling Poke'mon brings the phrase "Conflicting Signals" to mind. Personally I'm tired of seeing 10 new music threads a day. Let's just make a new Forum for music. Anyone else agree?
Agreed, sir, that way all the people who roll their eyes and groan at every one of these threads can save themselves the retinal strain.

Not really--the subgenres (at least in punk) are as much about the fans and the social network of the artists as the actual music in a technical sense.
Meh I can't be bothered with people get petty about them, even if it's jsut becuase the tone might be slightly different or they use a different chord pattern. If it's not about them music then I'm sorry but that is not a different genre but I see where you are coming from but don't you think it's a little petty too?

Not at all--that's one of the things that made punk great, that everyone took it and tweaked it and made it their own. It's what's responsible for the diversity of sound you find in punk, and the diversity of voices.

I mean, for example veganism/vegetarianism and animal rights wouldn't be what they are without hardcore punk: that music sort of served as a way of binding together like-minded people, giving them a social institution to augment the politics, to allow people with those politics to have a common music to identity with that buttressed what they had in common in terms of ideology.
Yeah, maybe I'm just a bit angry for the amount of stupid petty comments on the other metal threads, I think I'm going to take a breather

umm, okay, altough I'm a metalhead, I gotta say, some Punk bands are quite good , such as: Anti-Flag, Toy Dolls, The Clash, Ramones(which I don't personally like), Misfits, Cancer Bats and in Spain a band called Soziedad Alkolika. The rest are just "eeeh", most of them have just con Pop or just plain bad

I think it's time we started a hardcore punk thread.

the majority of people who listen to metal say the like it because of how cathartic it is, the intensity of the music. In this person's opinion, hardcore is even more intense than metal, it's faster and louder and more crazy.

And let's not forget about grindcore, which mixes hardcore and metal to create some of the most chaotic, fast and mindblowing music out there.

oh, and im talking about oldschool hardcore, you know, the one that doesnt suck.

bam! begin
Thats it im hijacking this thread this is now a Jethro Tull thread

No but i realy like punk and metal although im not a death metal or screamo
