Oh god, i'm so sorry!, I didn't mean it that way, I really didn't mean to offend, I should really rethink how I communicate myself.
True story: Back when I was first starting out in this game, I did a parody of the cheezy/hyperbolic first trailers for "An Inconvenient Truth" (the ones that called it "The most terrifying film you will EVER SEE!!!") with Al Gore morphing into Captain Planet. I called it "An Inconvenient Spoof," it was so-so, and kinda sat there on the youtubes without much notice.

Several MONTHS later (while I was on internet-free vacation, of course) a story broke about another youtube spoof of the film that was made to look "viral" but was actually made by a Conservative public-relations firm. A national news outlet reported on the story under the headline "An Inconvenient Spoof." So you can imagine the sort of stuff oveflowing my email when I got back home? ;)
so do you think that you got plagarised?

Isn't the internet like "free shit" for the publications though, I've had quote's taken from me and put into a book (yeah, me, stupid me, shocking no?) and on shirts.

Nah, no worries. I figured you didn't, I was more just keeping an eye on my own mention. "Internet," as you may well know, is actually an Ancient Swahilli phrase meaning "Taken Grotesquely Out of Context" ;)
Haha, i'm quoting that ad verbatim in the pub with friends and claiming it as my own genius.

Seems interesting. The only thing I had a problem with the review (as I've never seen the movie) is that you pronounced "der" wrong, just like every one else. It's not "dur", it's "dare". Just throwing that out der.

i liked this movie...

first i should mention i hate Quentin Tarantino. he sucks ass, is a total douchbag personally and he has no true technical filmmaking ability. every film up to kill bill was good as a result of his editor covering up the directors mistakes. but he is a good writer and can at least recognize (cares) when his actors are doing good or not.

i liked this movie. it was nifty. movie bob thought way to deep into Tarantino's meanings and methodologies. nobody but Tarantino should give a shit. however...

If you like Quentin Tarantino you will love this movie.
if you don't like Quentin Tarantino you will like this movie.
if you think history is boring you will love this movie.
if you don't like movie stereotypes you will love them after seeing this movie.
if you have ever seen a John Wayne era war movie you will find Brad Pitt hilarious.
if you don't go see this movie your movie buff friends will just keep pestering you about it till you do.

this is by no means cinematic brilliance. but its one of those rare movies that is best enjoyed with a 30+ foot screen and a 7000 watt 10 channel stereo system. (the sound design is FUCKING FANTASTIC) so don't miss out.

and if you ever see Quentin Tarantino in real life, tell him you like his editing then call him a douchebag. that fuckers ego needs to come down a notch. (even though this movie is a culminating product of that ego)

Oi you, your supposed to look out for me when I'm being an idiot!
Like you say, it's sort of tough defeating well constructed prejudices you've been fed, and I didn't want to take a page pulling down that little monster. It's taken me long enough to explain I'm English and I don't drink tea that often. :)

excellent review, I'll be watching it again later, its Bob's voice... smooth and authoritative.

Also, can I put a question out?, regarding the Jew's, ermm anyone here a Jew that has seen it or heard of the plot line to the film?, and how do you feel about Jew's being portrayed in such a way?, as killing machines, but probably witty and quick thinking killing machines being a Tarantino movie, but still.

I ask because if it was a film regarding black people directed by a white guy such as Quentin we'd have N'Gai Croal shouting from the roof tops about how socially regressive it is.

So wait, it's actually good?
That's a surprising turn of events..

+ You should fix the title, isn't it Inglorious Bastards?
Nope, Mr Panda is correct, the title has an e in it, its mispelt on purpose because there is a seventies Italian Combat film (spaghetti combat) called "Inglorious Bastards" and calling this film the same name would create a "langdell cascade".

A langdell cascade is like a resonance cascade but with legal documents flying at you instead of Aliens, the person who owns the rights to "Inglorious Bastards" so happens to be Quentin Tarantino.

Odd no?
I still wish the old title could have stayed, "Once Upon a Time in Nazi-Occupied France".

Every good movie besides Up that has come out this year is rated R!

Public Enemies- I had to watch on my ipod with terrible lighting, which completely ruined the experience

District 9- Had to go with my friends dad

Basterds- I have no Idea how the fuck im gonna get to this one!

I didn't actually like this movie. I thought it was very self-indulgent and a lot of the characers seemed kind of underused, even the main ones. Looking back on it, I get the imression he was trying to fit too much into one movie. Maybe it's because I just didn't pick up on a most of the that moviebob mentioned, but it just seemed really... dumb.

Oh, and I hated the alternate timline thing. The movie would have been to predictable if it wasn't there, but there's somthing about Eli Roth gunning down Hitler that turns me off a movie.

EDIT: I did, However relly liked the characters of Landa, Frederik Zoller and Archie Hiccox.I just feel it could have been better. There was wasted potential in that film.

I think he is just saying that they mistook his piece for the other one and such he got tons of flame mail. Not that they stole the idea.

I definitely be going to see this either tonight or later this weekend.

See the problem here is that in naziexploitation revenge films that Nazis are 1D villains or the SS (the ones that ran the death camps anyway)

Here they're normal humans who are murder by the heros who (in my eyes) are 1D psychopaths (really please infor me how any of them have any deth other than Nazi Killers) simply because they're doing their job. Even the SS Jew hunter is more likeable than the Bastards

Oh right, sorry, once again, I'm so rubbish. I'm crap at telling what I mean, and i'm crap at reading what others mean. Oddly, i'm great at the verbal shit.

Thanks Slycne for the explanation.

I have no idea how you got this vid out so fast since I saw this movie at 12:01 am today, but what's even more impressive is how you nailed it. This movie is pretty much everything you said it was, and I didn't even catch the "film as a weapon" thing initially.

Same here

maybe because

It's two Jewish suicide bombers gunning down Greman civilian and enjoying it, plus the fact a main reason why the Nazi lost the war was because the Nazi High Comman were so incompetent, which is the reason why in real life the Allis never tried to kill them because the guys who replace them might turn the tide. Plus it's pretty clear the Alliss haven't reach Gremany yet so the new guy in change could call a cessfire and end the war peacefuly, none of the concentration camps have been found yet (only rumors are know at this time)so not only did the Bastards might saved Nazi Gremany might might have allowed the holocaust to be never known.

I have to see this movie... I really do.

Moviebob, you're quickly becoming one of my favorite movie reviewers. We pretty much enjoy the same kind of movies... The only difference is you express your likes and dislikes a lot better than I can.

So it's another movie that Bob liked. I rather hear about a crappy movie and ways to make better ones.
Tarantinou's movies are good, but they ALWAYS have that part that breaks "immersion" that Yahtzee teaches us about.

About that picture of two woman, that's so unfeministic of you - they have feelings and one day they'll have thoughts and opinions (when they'll be old, I guess).

To be honest with you, I'm not to disapointed it doesn't have that much action. I'm really only in it for the dialouge because from what I've heard, the dialogue in this film really does "SOUND GOOD!"

Tis a grand film, and a good review to go with it. Although I'm going to point out (because I love the film, and already a complete fanboy of it) that Christoph Waltzs' character isn't code-named "The Jew Hunter", its just a nickname, like Aldo the Apache, or The Little Man.

Edit:
