It's a bad argument, sure. From our perspective. But to them it's not. Asking them to change their view on something they hold this dear is like asking a person to give up their cultural heritage because it's "dumb".bahumat42 said:well making fun of somebody because of something they can't change is worse than making fun of somebody for something they can.FROGGEman2 said:-People being racist-

Moviebob: HELL YEAH GUYS YOU'RE GREAT
gah
seriously what the hell
also I feel obliged to point out that that Jeff Dunham was
a) Making fun of terrorists specifically, not all arabic people
b) bringing a stereotype out and ridiculing it, a good thing against racism.
I'm not even religious, but you seem to have not thought this through.
And he's not really against religous people, just the ID people, and to be fair it is a bad argument.
I agree!sdgilbert said:For the love of God Bob, your jadedness never ceases to amaze me...
To be fair, though, evolution is just a theory too. Some people take evolution as a 100% undeniable irrefutable fact. I think that some people in this thread are getting Intelligent Design mixed up with Creationism, which is kinda what MB did in his review when he flashed the picture of the ad for the Creationism Museum while talking about Intelligent Design.BlueInkAlchemist said:I'm all for a Pegg/Frost team-up. Can I correctly assume that the people getting screwed in the screw-you moments are people that believe ID to be 100% undeniable irrefutable fact? Because those people are nuts. ID is a theory, nothing more, and should be taught and treated as such. It could be wrong or it could be right, possibly fact and possibly fiction, like the existence of extraterrestrial life, the presence of a divine universal (un)consciousness and the humanity of Jack Thompson.
Evolution is not a theory, the "theory" in the theory of evolution refers to a scientific theory http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_theory.xKevzeppelinx said:To be fair, though, evolution is just a theory too. A third film, provisionally titled The World's End,[2][3][4] is planned for the future. This third film is not to be confused with another Pegg/Frost film, Paul (2011), which Wright was not involved with.
The bird joke has been in a lot of the trailers already.Geo Da Sponge said:1. Fun fact: Spaced was Nick Frost's first acting job, and he got it purely because he was Simon Pegg's best mate. Needless to say this worried more than a few execs.
2. Thanks for spoiling the bird joke for me.
Yeah well I hadn't seen it. Whoever was responsible, MovieBob or the guys who made the trailer, they just destroyed the entire comedic payoff of that scene. Effectively rendering the scene pointless, unless it has some important relevance later in the film (and I don't want to know if it does).VanityGirl said:The bird joke has been in a lot of the trailers already.Geo Da Sponge said:1. So you're going to go spend $10 to watch people make fun of other people you don't like (considering that the bits where they make fun of this group will only add up to a few minutes total)? You were completely uninterested in it before-hand, but now that you know it spends a few minutes taking pot-shots at people whose views you disagree with, you're ready to shell out money to see it.Cliff_m85 said:Same here. I wasn't interested because Seth Rogan was going to portray a stoner. Oh how original. *rolls eyes* But since it *****-slaps ID, I'm all for it.lumpenprole said:Well, now I'm definitely going to see it for the 'Screw You ID' factor. Thanks Bob!
