Nope. If Yahtzee rates a game well, I go out and research it very thoroughly. If I find that I do want the game, I get it. I've also gotten games that he thought were shit, and I enjoyed them.

No, but I do listen to him. I do a fair amount of game research so usually my opinions on what to buy come from all the sources combined.

That being said, I did buy Far Cry 2 because I liked the way it looked on Unskippable.

I have not, though he did make me curious about Saints Row 2. My friend had it already, so after giving it a try, I bought it, and I couldn't agree with Yahtzee's review more.

Yahtzee led me to Saint's Row 2. I thank him every day for that.
Amen, brother.

I buy games based on many sources: Yahtzee, the Escapist members, Game Informer, friends, advertisements... whatever.
I usually do this on games that intrique me AND have a majority of these sources applause.
But you should be careful, he said himself that his love can be just as caustic as his hate.

no.

moviebob though once.

the fuck ,how did he like repo men?
Nothing is know by everyone except death.

As far as I know Repo Men is the only movie to copy Repo: Genetic Opera. So maybe Moviebob never knew about Repo: Genetic Opera.

I'm just saying.

Yeah, EVE Online got a month out of me, and Yahtzee's review played no small part in that. I needed to see if I was an uber-nerd which is to nerds what nerds are to normal people...

...I guess I wasn't.

Just Duke Nukem Forever . . . .
I know right, best game ever.

OT:I never did anything because of his reviews. Because he mostly talks about the bad parts of a game.

Heh, as funny as it sounds, I picked up Far Cry 2 just because of his "How to run over Zebras" bit.

It was also only 5 dollars on the steam sale. Ended up loving the games and all its quirks.

Thanks to Yahtzee, I went dumpster-diving to find a copy of Painkiller. I'm glad I did, but I could have done without all of the needles I had to dig out of my skin later on.

Saints Row 2 definitely, I probably wouldn't have really given it another look otherwise. Oh, an not to mention Painkiller.

Maybe a few games to be fair, I just can't remember everything he's reviewed XD

[small]I read all the reviews on Metacritic instead [/small]
Whoops. Forgot to say I agree but I...
Don't read Metacritic. I go with gut instinct and a vast majority of the time, worth it

Yes. Painkiller. Possibly the best 10 bucks I ever spent.

I'd also been intending to buy the Orange Box for years but I'd kept putting it off until Yahtzee's review drove me to go get it. When Yahtzee unambigously praises a game as a work of genius, you fucking well buy it.

I think I also bought Left 4 Dead based on his recommendation, although I'm not sure- his review may simply have prompted me to look up more information on it, leading me to buy it.

Oh yeah, and it was his review of Ess Tee Aye Ell Kay Ee Arr: Clear Sky that incentivized me to go out and pick out a copy of the original Shadow of Chernobyl.

Funny pattern emerging here...

Oh yeah, and Braid.
yeah, me too.

Only Painkiller, and only because he put it "in the same bucket as Serious Sam and the original DOOMs". Found Painkiller: Black Edition on Newegg for $10 new. Best damn $10 I've ever spent.
