yes here in Holland they sort-of ban drugs its not entirly legal but not completely illigeal for some reason they cant make up their mind also when people migrate here we have to adapt to their language nad customs and the only thing they do here is raise hell and can do whatever the hell they want I,m planning to move to the USA when I,m one with school

Ours wasn't really elected to be honest. Well, we had an election, and people voted, but no one actually won - yet we have two parties in power. Two parties with opposing views on numerous issues I might add.

On the other hand, we have the militant feminist party, that wanted to have a special 'man-tax' not too long ago.

The UK is certainly run by monkeys. The whole prision, benefits, health and tradition are completely mucked up. The only thing they havnt fucked up FULLY is the education system, but even that has its flaws. Wooo England -_-

In the Netherlands we had elections a few months ago and everybody was pretty much fed up with the old ruling parties and voted for the other side. Which resulted in the old guys being thrown out and the three new parties who had the most votes(1 extremely right wing, 1 left wing and 1 religious group) were forced to work together. You can see where this is heading.

The left wing party had the most votes out of the three, so their party leader was put in charge of coming to an agreement between all the parties to form a new kind of super coalition, the likes which have never been seen in my country.

After a few months it all fell apart, with the religious group being the most headstrong (typical) and refusing any form of cooperation.
So now we are without a real coalition to rule the country. They are idiots, and also completely self serving.

After this, I gave up on voting, there is just no point to it anymore.

Just evil corrupt people who PREY on idiots to vote for them by telling them the other party somehow stole their gold even though they never fucking used it in the 1st place and when it is in fact the very government they are supporting who is taking all the cash. They weren't even ALIVE when that gold was "taken" and yet they have the right to complain and be racist and it's apparently "ok" to run around yelling songs about killing other people who were ALSO not alive during the apparent theft of minerals because it is somehow still their fault.
And then when people like me have something to say about it then the rest of the world who is run by all-knowing paragons of piece declares me a racist.
Oh wait, our president never graduated from grade fucking 9!
So yeah, my country is run by idiots after all.

Hello fellow Escapists, prepare for a rant. I was watching the local news yesterday and there is a man with cancer that has been refused treatment on the NHS for his cancer because the government says it is too expensive. He will die without those drugs. Also, both of my parents are disabled but have to pay £300+ for prescriptions a year. Meanwhile, the NHS is funding surf lessons (£250 per person) for people with ADHD.

So, does anyone have similar problems with their government?

Oh wow $300+ a year!! THAT IS DEVASTATING!!! My GF's father had to pay $500 a MONTH for his diabetes and other medications.....

The NHS isn't perfect. That's why there is private health care. If you cant afford private health care you will always have coverage up to a certain level.

If that guy was in the states they would give him the drugs he needs, sure. But as he is obviously broke and poor he would have to sell his house for them.

No health care system is perfect. But there are MANY different factors in determining the state of health care services. In the US I paid $70k when my appendicitis went septic, all covered by insurance. In the UK the same service would have cost A LOT less and I still would have ended up as healthy. In the UK we allow immigrants to enter this country while being really ill and offer to keep them and administer them aid, read up on third stage renal failures of immigrants who arrive and then claim status because of it.

No system is perfect, but get over it and move on. There is a perfect answer to all of this, GET PRIVATE HEALTH CARE AND STOP BITCHING ABOUT IT!!!

If you are that worried about it $50-$100/month isn't actually anything at all...

Erm... for a start, it is £300, not dollars and they pay that each out of benifits. I wasn't saying that it is bad, all I was saying is that the NHS need to sort out their priorities.

Winston Churchill said that democracy was the worst system, except for all the others. Yes, elected leaders by their nature suck, because they need to stay popular and thus restrict what they do for the greater good of the country. Although it'd be great if we could just put all of our faith in a leader that isn't responsible to the people, it'd be way too risky because he could just as easily screw us all over.

Every government will have a few bafflingly idiotic things going on but that's just a result of all the bureaucracy and whatnot. Any large organisation suffers from this.

Personally I quite like Nick and Dave, I think they're doing a stand up job.
