Neverwinter Nights 2. Started it a 1000 times because of the very cool character creating thing, but usually lose all interest at the end of act 2.

Also Dragon Age, I'm almost at the final mission, but ... meh, lets do something else.

The secret of loving Mass Effect 2 btw is booze. And playing as female renegade. Just try it, it's awesome.

The latest Prince of Persia, the 2008 one.

About halfway through, but can't be bothered to retrace all my steps to find those damned lightseeds. I know where they are, and how to get there all right. But it's so boring...

Oh god this is going to take a while...

Final Fantasy VII - I have it on my PS3 off of PSN, but I have yet to beat it. I have to get back to that one day.

KOTOR II - I've beaten it before, but I started a new playthrough and Peragus just took it out of me.

Jade Empire - Again, I started a new play through and just couldn't finish.

SoulSilver - Trying to grind on the elite 4, taking a long time.

Fire Emblem games - I often get through a good chunk, then just stop.

BioShock - Get to the super amazing mid-point. Thought it was the end, didn't have it in me to finish (it doesn't help that I don't like the game).

Final Fantasy III on DS. I don't know how far in I got, but I think I was about to get the fourth crystal. I just got tired of the fighting system, and I couldn't advance without some serious level grinding. I also got kind of confused with the story, since the map was suddenly giant and multi-leveled.

I got to about an hour before the end of Dragon Age and then gave up. I will probably finish it, but that would involve finding the disc. Thats a challenge akin to finding a needle in a giant stack of needles in my room.

FFXII!! I don't know if it's actually that long, but I keep getting bored with it so I still haven't finished it even though I bought it right after it came out. >_<

I suffer badly from this... start a game I've heard/read is really good. Enjoy it, play most days when I've got time, then one day realise I haven't played in a week and don't feel like playing even though I want to progress in the game.

There are some games I've played to death (eg Sid Meier's Alpha Centuri, Civ 3 - even some NFS games) and others I've managed to play a lot of online ie CS, TF2, a bit of CoD4, and WoW :( lots and lots of WoW...

It seems that any game that has a single player story mode isn't for me so much - I only managed to finish HL2 after taking an extended break from playing, and even then I went off it at times. Never finished Deus Ex (not that I can remember anyway, that was years ago).
Other games I get into for a bit, then drop - Overlord, Sins of a Solar Empire...

Annoys me because so many good recent games I think I could really get into (Fallout 3, Mass Effect, Dragon Age etc) would probably be wasted money for me... then again, if I paid for them I guess I'd have a bit more incentive to play through them.

I have sort of the opposite problem. When I first start up any game regardless of its length sometimes I don't get into it immediately and the first 3 hours seems like an eternity. But, when I finally get into a title it doesn't matter if its 70+ hours. It seems to fly by when I'm really into the game and enjoying it. This recently happened with Persona 3 and 4 and Resonance of Fate.
That happened with me in Tales of Symphonia. It seemed so formulaic at first, but things eventually changed, and the story hooked me throughout the remaining 57+ hours.

This is something I suffer from quite a bit, and it's a problem I have.

Have you ever just lost interest when the game is really long game?

You're not stuck and you aren't lost in it; you're doing just fine, but you start to feel bored with it. That kind of a thing.

I do this all the time, and I'm just wondering if some of you guys to do.
Usually, if a game is more than 40 or 50 hours, I begin to lose interest unless it's really addicting to me. This is part of why I've never been able to finish a Final Fantasy, I think.

I think I just get tired of seeing the same characters for so long (unless I get really attached to them and really like them), and I get tired of the same plot (because when a game is THAT long, it's a little hard to keep it engaging the entire time), and it also gets boring when the gameplay is the same thing (99% of the time it is) every single battle.

Does anyone else suffer from this unexplainable "long game" issue?
This is why I personally prefer shorter games, averaging 20-30 hours or so. When I hear a game has upwards of 60-80 hours or gameplay or more (many Final Fantasies, Persona 3, etc.), then I know I most likely will never see the ending for myself, even if I do take an interest and liking to the game.
Played Dragon Age Origins, am currently at the final mission and simply can't be arsed finishing it... It pains me, I can't uninstall it cause I'm so close, but I can't be assed playing it cause its outlived its interest for me. Its like a Limbo which is keeping one of my hard drives at 3 gigs free space.

I think it only ever happened to me with RPGs. FFX, FFXII and Mass Effect in particular are the ones that come to mind.

Mass Effect. Still completed it though. I can't say the same for Bioshock. I snoozed during the combat
But then you must have died countless-

Oh, wait a second.

This happens to me all the time. And I only buy, I don't rent, so that's kind of a losing situation.

You Have to Burn the Rope for me. The insane difficulty + the length + needing a walkthrough to figure out what to do next was just too much for me, ended up quitting before the final boss.

Seriously though, the only time I've ran into this problem was Eternal Sonata. I tolerated it's atrocious writing and annoying gameplay for like 20 hours due to the premise, art design, and music but after a point I just couldn't go on anymore.
