I lost a memory card back when I still had my PS1. It was a pain in the butt to have to complete all those games again to the point I had got to (I had nearly gotten all the endings for Silent Hill, damnit!) but on the bright side, since it was a repeat play through it didn't take quite as long to get back to where I was because I knew the answers to the puzzles and where to go.

Plus, it kinda reminded me of the days when I would play games on the Sega Mega Drive and the closest thing I had to a save function was a password system. So, it was a little nostalgic in a way.

I thought I had lost my copy of NWN: HotU, but then I found it.
So no, never.
I've had games stolen, but never lost.

thank you it helps ;-)

what else helps is ebay ,some remakes on the gamecube and the wii virtual console^^
..so some real good stuff is back i.e. banjo kazooie (the first of course),resident evil 2,golden eye, perfect dark, mario 64...

but as a warning: THINK before you are checking out, if an older game was really that bad , by putting it into the console - you'll never know what happens

*sorry for double posting was meant to be an reply*

I've lost almost every game I've owned for handheld devices. It's so hard because the cases they sell are really small and cartridges don't fit!

The ones I liked and regret losing:
- A batman game for GB Color.
- A sonic game for GBA
- Lord of the Rings III for GBA
- Advance wars: Dual Strike for DS
- Several others which I can't remember right now.

well...i didn't loose one copy, or two copies, not even five copies

no sir !

I actually managed to loose ALL my N64 games - maybe twenty or thirty- at once, only turok2 stayed in the console..
to be precisly i throw them to garbage by mistake.
We where renovating, there where lots of black bags filled with various things, some disposable.... others ... not

that happened about 10 years ago,but I'm still under shock
Damn man, that is harsh...I think I'm going to cry just thinking about that...

And of all the games you could have kept, the one you still have is turok2? I don't know if it helps but I feel seriously sorry for you.

I lost my copy of Pokemon Fire red a few years ago, and before that my sister lost my copy of a gameboy cart with over 100 loaded games on it, I was not best pleased that day.

Well I've got some games that I believe were stolen and some games I believe were lost. Stolen first.

Well back before B.Net I had bought the Collectors Editions for Vanilla, The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King for World of Warcraft, I had just gotten a huge payload but my account was already upgraded to Wrath of the Lich King so the codes still worked and were valid, but I wanted them for the Artbooks. Part of that collection is also the BioShock Limited Edition (with the Big Daddy statue, I loved it so I never took it out the box), BioShock 2 Collectors Edition, and the Batman Arkham Asylum Collectors Edition, I was just a sucker for the Art Books, nothing else really mattered. One day I had a party and all my collectors editions were bundled in the corner of my room instead of on display, went to sleep woke up and all of them were gone. I've tried to rebuild and so far all I've got is the Cataclysm Collectors Edition... it just sits on my shelf mocking me and I bought an Prototype Big Daddy figure (Omega) but... it's just not the same. Since then the amount of friends I have has been cut down by about 80%.

Time for lost, I lost every single Pokemon game I ever owned. I made a huge collection, Fire Red, Leaf Green, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, Platinum, Diamond, Pearl, on my Platinum one I had nearly every single Pokemon, from Mew to Deoxys then one day I put them away in a box, when I opened that box again they were all gone.

Nope

N64 games or playstation disks randomly thrown all over the room without casings were a common sight in my youth and even than it gave me the shivers. Because even back than I knew they were easily broken. And, taking my tiny allowance into account, they may as wel have cost one million each.
Once, I thought I lost a gameboy game at summer camp and it traumatized me so bad I have nightmares about it to this day. Nevermind the fact I since found it and it works fine to this day.

I did once loan a DVD to a friend and he never returned it. In retrospect that wasn't really surprising considering how fucked up his life was back than.
A few years ago we met again for the first time in a decade and the first thing I said to him was "you know you still owe me a DVD of triple x right?" lol

Never permanently lost any discs afaik.

My Half Life: Opposing Force disc has gone walkies twice. Once my brother lent it to a friend, gave me the disc box back... could tell it was empty from the weight. Fortunately his friend returned it when he asked.

Second time I was vaguely aware it wasn't around - didn't massively hunt for it, but kind of knew it wasn't where it should be (most of my games are either in a file or on a spindle - I chuck the plastic and file the rest).
At uni, my PC died, and my parents offered to lend me a PC until I could get a new one. I go to place a disc in the drive... and lo... there in the drive was my Opposing Force disc. Twas in there for at least a year, possibly two.

Ah well, that disc likes to find its way back to me, not that I really need it now I have steam.

Edit: I was once responsible for making someone's music CD go walkies. My now-husband lent me a Megadeth CD, and I accidentally gave him an empty box back. He didn't notice it was missing until I gave the CD back a few days later after finding it in my portable CD player... oops.

I lost my copy of "Command & Conquer: The First Decade" after visiting a friend.
I had bought that copy after my old copy stopped working.

I've bought that bloody game three times now.

Oh, and I lost my manual for Sim City 4, which contained the CD-key. That is another game that I've bought three times now, but for a different reason.

You know, I swear that happened to a copy of Mega Man 3 I had back when I was a kid, but no one ever seemed to have it and there wasn't any DIRECT proof... buuuuuut, the game was never found so there could only be one conclusion. So basically, sort of.
