Title says it all, summarize why some people think Team Fortress is ruined now. Because it now has a lot of content? I thought that made the game better because it started out very small when it was released 3 years ago [god that makes me feel old :/ ].

So, summarize what most of the whiners are complaining about, and say whether you think its a good objection or not, and why.

Because giving money to the developers of a game you love and cherish and has been fed with free DLC for the past 3 years is shunned.

And this makes Valve as greedy as EA?

I don't see how, it's not like their demanding you pay for things. It's just. "Hey, If you want to give us some money. You can, but you don't have too."

It's like those "Free" fairs you(at least I) got to go to as a kid.

1) He had about 37 layers of irony caked onto his post
2) He said nothing about EA

The main reason is that people believe all the items continually being added will get harder and harder to keep balanced, and an unbalanced tf2 is a destroyed tf2. Althogh so far it doesn't appear to be unbalanced yet, some things may need a tweak but nothing game breaking yet.

TF2 is not destroyed, though the first day of the update was super buggy lol it kept telling me the Mann Co. Store was closed...I know game! you don't have to remind me every 5 mi-aaaand you just got killed... :/

Thought I do have to admit wearing the whole set for even more seem kinda unbalanced, i hope they do that with the old items or at least try :/

also, i think 4-5 classes can now heal themselves so no one will play medic

And how does that destroy the game? It just makes it easier to get items. You don't have to buy them if you don't want, so why is it an issue?

I just dislike that wearing the entire pack gives you a bonus. Its really stupid to have the degreaser and the powerjack, as the degreaser is pretty well designed to be best friends with the axtinguisher.

Because rare items now have in game effects to gameplay. That's the only problem I have with it.

There was a time where the new items felt very unpolished and just thrown into the game for the sake of having new items, but the polycount update feels fine and back to a good standard.
I still prefer quality over quantity, and there was a time where quantity seemed to start outshining the quality.

I don't think TF2 is destroyed, but selling stat changing weapons in the store is generally never a good idea, and I would have hoped that valve had realised that, regardless of the fact that they can be obtained through grinding eventually.

I also am not sure that adding so many new weapons was ultimately a good idea. I understand TF2 was never the most serious game, but they've destroyed a lot of the elegance of their own design. It used to be, you see a demoman silhouette and you'd know what you were up against. Now you can't tell whether to expect explosives or to be charged at superscout speeds by a guy with a sword. Like I said, the game certainly isn't destroyed, but it's a LOT more chaotic than it used to be and that's not where my tastes lie.

I don't know about destroyed, but I played TF2 to get away from the grind-fest you find in most other games, I really liked that everybody had the same options, and a match was won on superior tactics and teamwork.
Now its also about who have farmed the more items.

In most games, micro transactions are dumb because buying the weapons is the only way to unlock them. i.e. Battlefield Heroes. Not the case with TF2. In TF2 you can buy it OR unlock it. Most if not all other games don't have an unlock option, only a buy option. This is why TF2 is not ruined.

Of course some people would disagree with that. All the methods of getting cheap kills ruin the game for some people, and the more new items we get, the more ways for cheap kills there are. The Huntsman is undeniably cheap and random, the entire Demoman class will always be hotly debated and the insane amount of spam that sadly leads to way too much success is just a fact for TF2.

If people can deal with all of that and be happy with the game, great. A lot of those even admit that certain weapons and classes suffer from balancing problems, it just doesn't ruin the game for them.

Of course, people whining about headshots and backstabs and pyros are really just whiners. But there can be legitimate complaints about the effect of many of the unlocks (and even some vanilla weapons).

And then of course some people simply can't handle change :p

Personally I think it's because the quantity of new items you gotta learn the advantages and disadvantages of. It's overwhelming. I'm still playing the game, and it's still fine, but I do hate getting killed because I didn't know of the item the enemy had.
