I was actually just poking fun at most communities' tenancies to claim their favorite game is ruined because the devs changed/added something.Sir John the Net Knight said:Changed what? You mean microtransactions? At least they do it properly, which is more than I can say for Nexon. Who's entire business model is based around microtransactions. I will say that the hat stats are not a good idea. And I don't like the supply crates being able to give out normal drop items. For $2.50, I would prefer to know for certain that I'm going to get something of value and not something that I will just turn into scrap metal. I mean, as it stands now, it's just a gamble. And I only gamble in Vegas casinos. You know, since they provide free drinks, air conditioning, live entertainment and buffets.Irridium said:Its not ruined. At all. All items you can buy you can also find normally, and someone else having them doesn't mean shit.
Also because Valve changed things. Change bad. Change very bad. Community want different things, just don't change things.Sir John the Net Knight said:Because the hat they grinded(or idled) for months to get can now be purchased for a mere $5-$10. Their cool status symbol is no longer exclusive to just them. You gotta know how that community thinks.
Aside from those minor quibbles, I see nothing wrong with the Mann-conomy update.
Secondly:You can get most of the weapons either by random drops or trading, but I doubt anyone would be willing to trade his croc hat, making the set bonus a pay-only privilege, and these are 17USD right now, or 20 bucks for the complete set.
To those who don't know, having the complete croc-o-style outfit as a Sniper makes you immune to headshots, and you'd have to extremely lucky to get the hat to complete the set without paying for it. While the weapon which is part of the set prevents you from getting headshots, having the complete set still makes any Sniper virtually untouchable to other Snipers, no matter how much more skilled they are.Now a question for you TF2 sniper players. If a croc-o-style find a pocket medic to heal him, how you counter-sniper him?
Tell me about it. I've opened two crates so far, and I got a Scottish resistance in both of them. This means I've lost £4.00 and a Mad Milk I traded for the second crate (don't worry, I can make more, I'm not that daft).Sir John the Net Knight said:And I don't like the supply crates being able to give out normal drop items. 1997... thats when Duke Nukem Forever was announced.Sir John the Net Knight said:Ah yeah, I know what you're saying. That started up around 1997. You know what else got big back then? The internet. So basically the internet is one giant app for bitching about pointlessly stupid things.Irridium said:I was actually just poking fun at most communities' tenancies to claim their favorite game is ruined because the devs changed/added something.
God I love technology.
Fixed it for youMaddyfiren said:Because giving money to the developers of a game you love and cherish, who have been feeding you free DLC for the past 3 years, ends up with them being shunned.
Obvious answer would be to switch to Spy and give them a back rub, or switch to Heavy or Soldier or something and put lots of bullets/rockets in their faces. You don't always have to be a Sniper, y'know.Geo Da Sponge said:To those who don't know, having the complete croc-o-style outfit as a Sniper makes you immune to headshots, and you'd have to extremely lucky to get the hat to complete the set without paying for it. Oh no, I hardly ever play Sniper. And I don't think it's a problem until a lot of people start doing it. It's just that I see it really pissing off all the 'pro-Sniperz' on 2fort...Delusibeta said:Obvious answer would be to switch to Spy and give them a back rub, or switch to Heavy or Soldier or something and put lots of bullets/rockets in their faces. *Hugs his Degreaser like it's a lifeline*Flying-Emu said:Doesn't bother me since everything besides the Spy pack is absolute trash.
That's actually a really good reason it should have a bonus; it makes up for the lack of synergy. I don't like needing the hat for it though, that's just silly.ilspooner said:I just dislike that wearing the entire pack gives you a bonus. Its really stupid to have the degreaser and the powerjack, as the degreaser is pretty well designed to be best friends with the axtinguisher.
Not really their self heals are awful. Heavy is basically a long recharging med pack not good for field, Scout gets rid of main weapon(I think), Pyro is based on melee, Soldier is the only decent one based on hitting enemy so medic is still needed.Drumming Panda said:TF2 is not destroyed, though the first day of the update was super buggy lol it kept telling me the Mann Co. Store was closed...I know game! you don't have to remind me every 5 mi-aaaand you just got killed... :/
Thought I do have to admit wearing the whole set for even more seem kinda unbalanced, i hope they do that with the old items or at least try :/
also, i think 4-5 classes can now heal themselves so no one will play medic
I've never heard anyone complaing about Demoman?CleverNickname said:Of course some people would disagree with that. All the methods of getting cheap kills ruin the game for some people, and the more new items we get, the more ways for cheap kills there are. The Huntsman is undeniably cheap and random, the entire Demoman class will always be hotly debated and the insane amount of spam that sadly leads to way too much success is just a fact for TF2.TheComedown said:The main reason is that people believe all the items continually being added will get harder and harder to keep balanced, and an unbalanced tf2 is a destroyed tf2. Althogh so far it doesn't appear to be unbalanced yet, some things may need a tweak but nothing game breaking yet.
If people can deal with all of that and be happy with the game, great. A lot of those even admit that certain weapons and classes suffer from balancing problems, it just doesn't ruin the game for them.
Of course, people whining about headshots and backstabs and pyros are really just whiners. But there can be legitimate complaints about the effect of many of the unlocks (and even some vanilla weapons).
And then of course some people simply can't handle change![]()
Keep playing for a few months. In time people will have all the polycount items.DazBurger said:I don't know about destroyed, but I played TF2 to get away from the grind-fest you find in most other games, I really liked that everybody had the same options, and a match was won on superior tactics and teamwork.
Now its also about who have farmed the more items.
I guess so. But the really stupid thing is needing the hat. I still will always use degreaser and axtinguisher. It rocks!Outright Villainy said:That's actually a really good reason it should have a bonus; it makes up for the lack of synergy.
