CoD4- I had my bead on you and my trigger down for ten seconds and you turn around and kill me in 2 seconds. I just put you in the center of the crosshairs (hipshot crosshairs) with a shotgun at facerape distance and fire and you kill me. I have my sniper crosshair on your head and fire. Why aren't you dead?

All of those sadly happen to me on a regular basis. It's why I enjoy single player games more than multiplayer.
Similar, but mine involves fighting games. I'm on a 10 mb connection too.

Latest involved Fight Night Rd 4 online for the first time. I go for a body uppercut combo, but lag lag lag into Bedrock, making strategy boil down to "slap the stick as fast as possible so when the input buffer is cleared, a flurry of stupid punches fly out that hopefully drop this fucker."

None of my opponents seem to experience this.

A real multiplayer game. You know, one that takes skill, where the aforementioned headshot would count instead of the bullet-spraying reject approach.
It's not a matter of skill, I'm pretty sure, it's a matter of the game not registering the hits, which can happen with any game, especially during online play.
An FPS game where one or two body shots is equal to a headshot points toward casualisation and easier, less skilled gameplay.
In my original post, I meant two seconds, not two hits, just in case that's what you were thinking.

I'm now going to break out my hula skirt and sing the Host Advantage song...

Host advantage... it ruins your game
Host advantage... where I put the blame

I shoot you for four seconds loading clips in your face
You calmly turn around while standing still in one place
I'm still emptying magazines right into your head
You pull your trigger once and suddenly I am dead

I'm running round through Crash and I'm on the third floor
I see you coming for me and I drop to the floor
I run right round the corner and I escape from you
But suddenly I'm back out on the roof carved in two

Host advantage... it ruins the game
Host advantage... where I put the blame
Host advantage... it's so goddamn lame
Host advantage... my skill it will maim

and so on...
Because that was good

I've been playing Resistance 2 lately...and some sections are extremely difficult for no good reason...especially when you get caught in a barrage of Auger fire from enemies five miles away who don't even know you exist yet. Or rather when a squad of them rush straight up to your face with Sonic feet and bash you in the face. I'm also irritated by those annoying Chameleons placed so perfectly right after a checkpoint...ugh...it's so pointless.

Edit: Right...and they can shoot you in the balls from Mars and put you in a state of constipated breathing for around a minute.

That lava covered level in Super Mario Galaxy, no damage. Have fun.

Also, you and a cripple verses the Ukrainian army in a fairly open field, for about five minutes, in a first person shooter where cover is absolutely crucial to not dying. Also Mile High Club.

Was that on Veteran? I kind of cheated on that on Veteran because it was so damn annoying.

Just Hardened. I couldn't imagine it being harder.

The fights in Prince of Persia Sands of Time.

No, first you have to knock me down using the same jump attack every time, then you have to stab me while lying on the floor, with three of my buddies trying to all attack you at the same time, and getting in the way so instead of stabbing me you freeze them and waste power tanks you were trying to save. Also if you take to long (because my jerk friends were standing in the way) I will get back up and you will have to knock me down AGAIN. Oh, and we're going to all follow you around and magically appear behind you, and if you have to run over to save farrah we're all going to follow and probably kill her with our giant swings that you can block but she can't.

GAAAAAAAAAH

Edit: Oh, and after it takes you five minutes just to kill me, you still have 40 of my friends to get through before we actually let you get back to the fun part of the game.

So a game where headshot is equal too or greater than a body shot is casual? I was beginning to think you would not return, when everyone called you on your first post.

The vehicle section in Half-Life 2 episode 2 when going for the Little Rocket Man achievement. Having to stop the car every 5 seconds to check to see if he was still in, and don't get me started on when the helicopter attacks.

There are countless, but my most recent are those god damn forced sword duels in Saints Row 2.
Yes especially since they don't even try to explain why you can't just shoot them.
In Metal Gear Solid you can get killed by a stray rocket even after you've won and then you lose.
Were you're in the midst of "HOORAY I FINALLY WON!" it saying game over is quite the shocker.

Let me see... Try the one where you have to destroy the escaping helicopters, which you can't do without jacking one yourself, which only lasts as long as the first round of heli's. Or perhaps every mission involving those genetic detectors.
Fuck those detectors.
Fuck them in the face.

Also, that mission where you have to destroy all twelve of the escaping helicopters is a *****.
I agree with you guy's completely.

Mine would be the fact that, in Prototype, any kind of hit with any kind of impact to it will send you flying backwards and knock you out of combos. Also the little temper tantrums that the Hunters get when you hit them to many times, I am hitting them with a 10ft long blade and they basically say "NO" and deplete my health half way with their UNSTOPPABLE claw swipes. So friggin' annoying.

It's not a particular moment in gaming, but its a game itself. Anyone familiar with Empire: Total War?
After setting up a 20 hour strategic master plan to conquer Europe in one or two turns ends because the game crashed my computer left me waking up 8 hours later in a deserted Walmart with the police outside...

For me, it's playing the Endless Setlist on Rock Band 2, on Expert... then getting to song 82 out of 84, without stopping (to try and get the Bladder of Steel achievement), and failing the song.

To clarify, it meant playing non-stop on Expert for six hours, only to fail three songs from the end. "Extremely frustrating" doesn't even begin to cover the fury I felt at that.
On a related note: "Raining Blood" on Expert. Damn you, Kerry King!
