This issue is seriously pissing me off..

As some may know, I am a Capcom fan, I love their games. And I own most of their newest games for PC, (ie. DMC4, RE5, and SF4)

But my pet peeve on this..is that those games were amazing, and also went and get released on the PC as well as the consoles, but because they were so awesome, both RE5 and SF4 became one of the top pirated games of 2009. Leaving Capcom now afraid to released both games new content (RE5 DLC, and SSF4), because of either poor sales or just fear of pirates.

I legally purchased my game, and know I am left out of future releases because a bunch pricks were too lazy to actually spend to buy something they wanted. I'm sorry if I'm offending anyone on here, and this might just be a pointless rant...but this is serious infuriating me

Good luck stopping them, because piracy is an issue that will almost never be controlled. You just have to deal with it. But it isn't just PC games being pirated, even though it is a majority.
And if you really dislike it, pirate the arcade version and play it on PC. Oh the irony.

It's the same with anyone's personal interest in movies and video games; if something is popular in the media, it will be pirated and the fans/loyal gamers will be angry. Sadly, this illegal action and anger will always go hand in hand.

I know, it really hurts game development, and it hurts the smaller selling ones the most because they run to losing money. Many more risky, experimental or niche games could be sustainably developed without piracy.

Piracy will never be stopped just like drugs and wars and religion will never be stopped. There will always be these bad things, and if you find a way to stop one it will reform into something else. Just accept it =/

Piracy's not just something that's affecting Capcom, at the rate htings are going within a few years the pc market will've been crippled.

This is why I support drm policies to a certain extent, these companies have to do something and MC Double Def has been out of the spotlight for some time now

Piracy is also on consoles fyi.
I suppose so, but its less effective as it is with PC titles, since most consolers dont know about console piracy. Plus they already get said titles in the first place, with its extras. While I will now never be able to be Hakan and "oil up" x-x

I know, but I just wanted to point it out that it's on all consoles just as a piece of information for the readers, so it wouldn't go from "F***ING PIRATES" to "F***ING PC GAMERS".

Just a preemptive post you could say.

There are the rare cases it's not so bad in my eyes, but if you pirate a game you'd otherwise buy then... I think you're kind of a dick, I guess.

Ahhhh I thought this was a pirates vs ninja thread.
OT: piracy is a plauge on humanity but there are ways to prevent it. Capcom should just invest in one of those ways and release new content.

Well , I live in a country where the average monthly wage is around 150$ (and we're in the EU ....) , so my priorities are bills , food , education and then games( I own 3 total). Pirating is nationally accepted (not limited to games) and there's even something like 2-3 torrent sites that everybody knows.

As I see it , if it wasn't for torrenting I wouldn't have bought them anyway and the only 3 I would have - I did.So it's more like a win(and not live a boring life playing minesweeper and watching TV all day) - lose nothing at all (the publisher that is) situation.
On the other end of the spectrum, in my country (Australia) we pay DOUBLE what Americans pay. It pisses me off to see Americans complaining about how much they get charged for games when we get charged $120-$130 AU.

Why do people pirate anyways? I mean I pirate myself but only really old games that aren't at my local game stores, I can't find any wheres else, or would be too old to even work properlky on my computer, like DOSbox games, oh and when I say pirate games I mean games today
