This may be just me, but the Fable games have always reminded me of a kind of Terry Pratchett-esque universe for some reason, but in a slightly darker light.Rusty Bucket said:Totally agree. Along with that, there's a certain something that Fable has that I can't qiute put my finger on. It's got a certain charm to it that keeps me going back and enjoying it, flaws and all.Onyx Oblivion said:Gotta buy it. The gameplay looks solid enough, but it the writing that gets me.
There's a wit to the Fable games that I just can't help but love.
And everything I've seen confirms it to me.
I get the same feeling with Overlord (Of course, the story for those WERE written by Terry Pratchett's daughter). Here you have this ridiculous world filled with outrageous characters, but then you have these murky undertones beneath it that lash out to pull you back in.
That said, I really want to get Fable 3, despite Molyneux lying to me on the second game.
