Watch the behind the scenes trailer on IGN. While we're supposed to be watching and listening to the actors, we can't because Peter is gushing about the design and writing choices in the background.

I'm not that excited but I'm gonna ignore this until it comes out. Then I won't be disappointed and have my hopes dashed by reading Peter Molyneux and the Magical Sack of Empty Promises.

Fable 1 was good but only with the Lost Chapters.2 was a BIG disapointment.3 Will most likely be a try at 2 again.

Hopefully they change the magic system back to how it was in the original. I HATED the magic system in Fable II with a burning passion.

If molynieux is to believed this game will loosly be tropico with updated graphics. However if experience is to be believed it will be fable 2 slightly updated with a 3 on it. I've known about this for a while, it was in the news that stephen fry let slip on his twitter he was doing the voice acting for it .
Stephen Fry played Reaver in the second one are you mistaking him for Jonathan Ross? ( http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/ross-pops-fable-3s-announce-cherry )

If they're both doing voices in the game then I may look into this one and write fable 2 off as a slight hiccup.

Please god Molyneux get rid of the dog if you're going to have a pet companion have something interesting like a Parrot, Red Panda or a bloody Manbearpig.

I actually enjoyed Fable 2 flaws and all. Maybe its because it was a gift and I didn't shell out $60 American on it. I don't really pay any attention to Peter (or anyone else who goes all over the place to hype his own games. If the game is really good we will hype it for you). Overall, if they could actually make the game they envisioned it would be great.

On another note; WHY WOULD YOU NOT MAKE DUNGEON KEEPER 3?!?!?! ARE YOU AFRAID OF MAKING MONEY?!??!?!?!

Screw fable give me Dungeon keeper.

Fable was too small, fable2's choices where stupid. Be bad or get old, be nuteral or lose your family and dog, effectively breaking the game. Woo fable 3, now all we need is a fable mmorpg.

I might consider buying it.

As long as Reaver is not in it.
Well, seeing that Stephen Fry is going to be voicing... probably not. Maybe Molyneux will let us kill him!

I see that I am in the minority of people who actually like both Fable games. I haven't heard any outlandish promises for Fable III yet, so I'll still be watching for now.

Peter Molyneux will say:

'This will officialy be the greatest, most original, amazing, immersive, mind blowing game ever realeased... EVER. This game will cure cancer, AIDS and end war.'

Fable 3 will say:

'Press the button at the right time to hit the hammer off the anvil. Now do it 6000 times. Feel dissapointed yet?'

Well, so long as it improves Fable 2, I'll be happy. I found Fable 2 to be fun, so even a slight improvement would be good.
But would you pay full price for a slight improvement?

Anyway, I'm pretty excited, a proper free roaming world would be nice, I really hated the loading screens.
Hmm, true. Okay maybe a large improvement. Consisting of:
A larger, more open world
More spells
Revamped combat system (I.E. Fable 1 magic, dodging and enemies standing a chance)
More customization
A better economy system
Monsters dropping money, or you get more from questing (Please lord)
A deeper, more immersive moral choice thing.
Different looking weapons, and more weapon types

And I think that just about covers it.
it sounds like you want fable 3 to be oblivion.

seriously tho i was impressed with fable 2 until i got half way through and realized how little freedom i actually had. il be hopeful for fable 3 but it probly wont be a preorder

Maybe if we make Peter play his fable games then make him play Oblivion or Fallout 3 he will understand what a game that lets you make your own choices should be like, but thats a big maybe.
I didn't touch Fallout 3, but Oblivion was hardly open compared to it's predecessor (Morrowind, seriously, go play it, it's awsome). I very highly doubt it is anything like what he imagines fable to be. It isn't a competition of "who can be more open".

Taste in a game is subjective, and games like oblivion are hugely different from fable (which wouldn't work at all if it was too open). It's pointless to try and compare games from different genres (action RPG vs RPG), that are so fundamentally different it baffles the mind. Fable is and has always been more about good vs evil, where Oblivion (and presumably fallout) were more story driven, with 'good' or 'evil' actions going completely unnoticed for the most part.

OT: Meh, I liked the original fable, I liked fable 2 (except the ending). I'll at least hire the third, if it looks like it has replayability I'll probably buy it. I won't buy it if it relys as heavily on xbox live as the first (for updates, passive income etc).

Hmm, sounds impressive, but I'm not so sure old Petey will fufill those promises seeing he's done so on several occasions, but I still hope they get it done completely right this time.
