Hero: *Tries to hit kid with sword*
Kid: "Haha! I am immune to swords!"
Nice summary CT, however I quote you here because this precise moment led to wanton genocide on my part. I was doing the inane blacksmith game and for some reason a little girl kept watching me, screaming about I was evil, yet awesome and going on about
bloody nothing. I finally lost it and shot her... only to realize you cannot kill children in this game; the guards came, the guards died because to hell with their fine and I opted to slaughter half the town and the guards for about an hour to satisfy my previous annoyance over that little girl screaming.
About the time I opted to go evil for the game.
I should also elaborate more on the later irritation for the dog. I find him useful and awesome for a majority of the game however it became apparent that he was going to tick me off fairly often when he does absolutely nothing for combat except get injured, barks for treasure while I am fighting repeatedly and whine/bark for no actual reason.
My other gripes with the game to add to my list
- I suppose you could lock this under customization however the rush job to include very poorly designed female models (IE: Touch strength in any way and she looks like Chyna or is extremely fat)
- Hammer... oh god Hammer, why couldn't I kill her? Why?! So poor characters, if you had not guessed.
- Ugly character design overall, why do I have to have horns, gray skin and blue lines because I am an evil magic user? In Jade Empire I could make Lucifer himself cry from my evil and looked no different, beyond a cool red aura if you did not press any buttons for a while. Stereotypical fairy tale evil appeared =/= Cool. Customize your own evil appearance = Cool
If this game allowed character customization like say Soul Calibur, it would immediate have an epic portion to it, even a Mass Effort custom system is at least something. All I will say is Peter has effectively sold me on never purchasing another title he pollutes with his name.
Yes Fable is fun as I noted but not for the price and frankly if Peter had shut his mouth, it would not have been much of an issue. His constant promises of the moon is why he is so hated in the gaming world and why Fable II will go down as one of the most overrated games on the 360.
