You just had to ruin my hopes and dreams didn't you? The day Texas stops infecting the rest of the US with its inanities, the better.Numb1lp said:He didn't threaten, he mentioned. I know it's stupid, but still a huge world of difference.blalien said:Well the governor of Texas did threaten to secede. So there's that.
We don't need the ghost of Jefferson Davis around, he did enough damage. George Washington was the richest person in pre-revolution United States and became even richer after his land grab of his British friends after the war. I'm not denouncing his contribution to help form the United States but it did profit him greatly.Skullkid4187 said:Yes, it is the ghosts of Ronald Reagan, Jefferson Davis, George Washington, TJ and Adams, and Harry Truman and these ghost live on in the hearts of our citizens and leaders such as Ron Paul, the one man I know who could turn this country around.Xpwn3ntial said:Is there such a thing in this nation anymore?Skullkid4187 said:Once we reelect a ACTUAL leader we should do fine.

You seriously think Obama fails do you, Tell me how do you expect him to fix everything from the last 8 years in a financial crisis?
The fact that the his healthcare gets blocked by conservatives is enough proof that the congress is opposing him and it isn't his lack of initiative.
Also; considering foreign politics he is a fresh breath of air that lots of countries welcome.
That's interesting. Where are you from and why do you hate, umm strongly dislike us? We are arrogant bastards just the same as the rest of the world. But we trrrryyyyyy to do the right thing once in a while.hmar9333 said:I don't really care, I still hate America, along with a lot of the rest of the world...AlphaOmega said:Hey its you, the guy I haven't agreed with yet.Skullkid4187 said:The United States will not fall. Maybe hate is too strong a word, "strongly dislike"....
Also, that isn't a slur against all Americans, just a lot of them.
I'm from Europe myself, and I have a few good (rl) friends in the US. it gives a good perspectivehmar9333 said:I don't really care, I still hate America, along with a lot of the rest of the world...AlphaOmega said:Hey its you, the guy I haven't agreed with yet.Skullkid4187 said:The United States will not fall. Yeah, sure thing Igor. I don't know what kind of Polonium infused Gulag-weed this crock is smoking, but I sure as hell would want some.Mr. Panarin posits, in brief, that mass immigration, economic decline, and moral degradation will trigger a civil war next fall and the collapse of the dollar. Around the end of June 2010, or early July, he says, the U.S. will break into six pieces -- with Alaska reverting to Russian control.
Great, the Pacific Northwest could finally reorganize itself into the glorious Republic of Cascadia! Well, until annexed by California, of course. The Random One said:The only way the US could fall is if it lost some sort of huge war in a huge way and its territory was conquered/balkanized. Can't see that happening in the foreseeable future.
The parts of the US that are the angriest about such things are the same ones who consider themselves to be the core part of the country. Seceding would not help them prove any point.
Although if there was any chance of the US falling, say hello to the republics of Texas and California. (Pretty sure the US Constitution still allows a state to secede at any time. Come to think of it, if the US was balkanized by an outside force all of the states could secede to reorganize themselves in a way that hurt them less - keeping the farm belt together, etc.)
You're doin' it wrong.Pimppeter2 said:Uhh, Obama is an islamic fundamentalist communist!
No you're both wrong: Obama is the Anti-Christ, this explains why he is so charming, talented, and capable.Naheal said:You're doin' it wrong.Pimppeter2 said:Uhh, Obama is an islamic fundamentalist communist!
"America, Obama is the spawn of Hitler and Stalin!"
If I hadn't heard the Ron Paul savior speech so many times already I would have lawled until I sharted. If Chevy Chase ever got back with SNL he could do the same Ron Paul jokes he did with Reagan decades ago.Skullkid4187 said:Yes, it is the ghosts of Ronald Reagan, Jefferson Davis, George Washington, TJ and Adams, and Harry Truman and these ghost live on in the hearts of our citizens and leaders such as Ron Paul, the one man I know who could turn this country around.Xpwn3ntial said:Is there such a thing in this nation anymore?Skullkid4187 said:Once we reelect a ACTUAL leader we should do fine.
I traveled quite a bit in Texas(through the company I worked for.), all over the place from small towns to big cities. I found the people very nice, engaging and hospitable. I was invited to many BBQs.(hehe) It is understandable you are loyal to the place you call home.Bourne said:So you are being willfully ignorant? Don't get me wrong, I am not a super patriot ready to stomp on every negative comment about the US or Texas, but I also do not enjoy reading malicious blanket statements about the place I call home.blalien said:I lived in San Antonio for a year, and I loved it. The people were some of the nicest I've ever met. They also didn't believe in evolution, were completely ignorant of the world outside the south, and kept trying to save my Jewish ass. And they've elected some terrible governors. I'm not saying my personal experience is indicative of the entire Texan population, but I'm not just speaking from ignorance here.
Also, it sounds like you would probably get along just fine in Austin. Its pretty liberal, while still maintaining an air of Texas conservatism, and there are some pretty amazing Mexican restaurants here to boot.
Well I'm from Australia, and like I said, I don't 'strongly dislike' a lot/most Americans, but I guess it would have to befasteddie_felson said:That's interesting. a) My experience with 'some' American tourists
b) Douche-Americans who have no awareness of the world outside of the US (a small percentage, but it's still there) and are somewhat blinded by the American education system (one of my friends thought for a while that London was it's own country and the capital of Australia was New Zealand...)
c) Americans who seem to forget that not everybody lives in the US.
Again, only a small percentage of Americans, but it taints my view of America in general (as much as I don't want it to)
