I agree with you. The extreme religious right wants to take away constitutional freedoms because of their interpretation of God's will. If the Fundamentalist got their way we would end up a Theocracy run by Christian leaders. As it is the state does not use favoritism because of the 1st Amendment. Meaning by law you can't be persecuted if you are a Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu, or some other minority religion, or non-religious if you choose.Batsamaritan said:wow! put on probation for suggesting christian fundaMENTALists might be the reason if america ever did break up...
Sorry but i'm sticking to my guns on this one... I read the other day christian groups are trying to knock down america's seperation of church and state, and seriously how many more liberal states (or even true republican ones) would ever sit back and take that crap..
Americas religious freedoms spring from this seperation and the freedom all americans have to worship whatever god they wish, or none at all, so if america did split up, (unlikely at best) I state again, christianity will be to blame!
you got put on probation most likely because the Escapist is afraid of flaming and hateful commentary. I really don't see this site being one that Fundamentalist Christians are going to be reading the forums though.
