I never gave a crap about the main story from the beginning anyways. To me it was all about exploring and finding new places, and doing sidequests. And to be honest compared to Fallout 3, NV failed at that. Not enough actual freedom. Im boxed into a canyon.
Sorry, but I really don't think you should be playing New Vegas, if buy New vegas only with the intent to explore while ignoring the characters and story and do nothing else then don't buy it.

That's like intending to buy Modern Warfare 2 with the hope it will be a great knife fighting simulator.

I was pretty bored after killing Benny, once i got the feeling of catharsis of shooting him in the head and robbing his headless body, i felt like there was no direction.

Yes, i had been offered a job but House and all that Jazz, but the transition from "Kill the guy who shot me in the head" to "Decide/ become the head of an post-apocalyptic monopoly didn't seem to jell together very well.

Never got to the part where I kill him. I just get bored of New Vegas when ever I play it... Fallout 3 is superior in my opinion. Way better atmosphere
Yeah, really loved the "Everything is still fucked with absolutely no sense of progression even after 200 years-- Oh, hi green tint" style atmosphere.

Why not? I just started playing Fallout 3 again. I put in 20 hours into that game so far just by exploring. Ive only completed 8 quests, half of which are quests to just get out of the Vault. Your telling me I shouldnt be playing that?

So, Escapists, can you think of anything that would have staved off the boredom that sets in directly after you've put Benny down?
I don't know, maybe a series of quests where you decide the ultimate fate of the Mojave, and all of it's inhabitants.

Or even better, maybe you could inherit Benny's plan, and scheme to rule New Vegas yourself in an absolutely dastardly scheme to sucker NCR, House, and Legion, and come out on top.

Oh wait. That's exactly what they did. And it was great.

I never finished NV, I always get bored from doing the dirty work for other Factions without a personal quest.

I would Love if you could make your own faction or gang.

You don't actually take over anything, you just reinstate anarchy.

That's Fallout 3, not New Vegas.

I was referring to New Vegas, which is a very different game compared to 3 and wasn't trying to capture the feel of it or continue from it at all.

Oh I know you were. And I was making a comparison. New Vegas just sucked. In many many ways.

Am I the only one who didnt kill benny? Revenge is a really petty reason to kill someone, especially in a video game.

Granted it takes getting a party member or two to follow you into it, reloading a save where you can stock up on some powerful weapons, and running like hell, but I've done it.

I don't agree, although I wish Benny' death could have been more climactic.

On a different point, I crucified him. Did anyone else here crucified him, or am I as terrible of a person as it makes me seem?

The Courier, at the end of the wild card path, is in charge of New Vegas. With the securitron army under the Courier's control, the strip is good as his/hers.

Sounds like post-homicide depression - remember that feeling and if you ever want to kill someone in real life, the aftermath will be like this - but with more gang rape in the showers..

Yes, but that's not what happens.

You could always set the game to an easier setting whenever the hit squads come.

Or preferably, you could always avoid becoming vilified in the first place until you're skilled and armed enough to deal with them.

Yes, but that's not what happens.
"The Courier, with the aid of Yes Man, drove both the Legion and the NCR from Hoover Dam, securing New Vegas' independence from both factions. With Mr. House out of the picture, part of the Securitron army was diverted to The Strip to keep order. Any chaos on the streets was ended, quickly. Chaos became uncertainty, then acceptance, with minimal loss of life. New Vegas assumed its position as an independent power in the Mojave."
