No level 20 or 30 level cap, or reaching the level cap from mostly story missions. (unless the cap is 99 or something but still.)

Oh man headless deathclaws sounds awesome. Mabey with the finishing moves it could be more along the lines of curb stomping him to death.

some other things i thought of are

pistol whiping
more craftable weapons (god i love my railway rifle)
more behomeths
less ghouls
more variety of enemies
I like the pistol whiping idea, although i'm sure that wouldn't be a smart move on a behemoth?
They definatly need to keep the railway rifle in there, love the gun. Mmmm i wonder what could be done to improve on that...

I want the original Fallout atmosphere to return. Fallout 3 greenish-trashy backround was boring and uninteresting.

Also real life firearms such as AK-47, MP5 e.t.c.
Well, if this is going to be in Las Vegas, itll be in a desert. So, theres going to be a whole lot of rocks and sand. If you consider that to be less boring and uninteresting than a lot of destroyed buildings, then sure. I for one dont see what was so wrong about the D.C. setting.

And it was my understanding that certain firearms dont exist in the Fallout Universe. Most of the tech is a mix between 1950s family values that adds to the humor and future tech such as the robots and laser rifles.
Have you played the previous fallout games? They were too set in a desert (wasteland whatever) but the atmosphere was a lot better and more stressing and threatening somewhat like the pit dlc, and also had somewhat more realistic weapons. I'm not for banning ridiculous energy weapons such as laser rifles but I want to see more realistic small guns such as those in Fallout: Tactics.

I want to see Obsidian finish a game for once and give it some polish so it's in a complete and playable state at release. Yes, I know, a tall order...
Well its not like Bethesda are any good at doing that either

I'll agree with you on that, however with Las Vegas having lots of power.. I'm guessing it could be the opposite way round.

There is however a Rare unique pistol that has a photo of the virgin mary on the side.

Plus, a bullet in V.A.T.S and a head exploding is soo much cooler than a shitty ZAP! green goo...

Sorry but that didn't do it for me

I add my other option - Guilds.

Something like the Guilds in Oblivion.
So you feel more part of a faction, such as the brotherhood of steel, outcasts, ect.

However i think they may have a system similar in the game, with respect points between factions.
YES I wanted this from the beginning, I absolutely loved Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild plus it led to some interesting, quest rewards. And also if you want a chance of someone from Obsidian reading this maybe you should post a link to this forum in one of their forums, just a thought. I also like the hardcore mode they're implementing. I would like to see some sweet new companions.
And also 500th post, I'm moving up in the world.

More Mutated Animals...good variety in Fallot 3, but their could of been much more.

Like Birds of prey, or Alligators.

Lots more weapon schematics. Fallout had so many damn trash items around and I kept thinking of cool ways to combine them into weapons that the game hadn't included-- there should be a healthy selection of invented weapons for all types.

I do know that they are going to be adding more realistic small guns in such as a 9mm pistol and a m4 assault rifle, but the energy weapons are still going to be like in fallout 3

The ability to blow off somebody's limb and have them survive, oh the fun that could be had with a guy crawling around with no legs.
That would be great, I'd just blow the legs of every NPC in one city, and all the arms of every NPC in another city. It would be so so sweet.

Animated Melee combat similar to killzone 1 and an ability to actually climb the terrain. fallout 3 felt too much like you were a camera floating around with a gun sellotaped to the bottom. they need more immersive first person interactions with the world around you. also maybe an ability to put paint jobs on armor and weapons (if anyone who does modding reads this and the armor/weapon painting isn't in, make it happen and you'll will been thanked by many smiling gamers.). And get rid of those god damn mole-things.

I don't understand why people want realistic guns, I loved all the wacky and silly weapons in F3. There are already enough games with realistic guns these days imo.

OT: Alot of suggestion in this thread seem good to me (limbs being blown off, less ghouls, iron sights, ability to climb, better character customization)

I also hope the radio stations will be still present, with more songs too if possible.

Being able to kill anyone at anytime with possible lasting consequences, including straight up failure of your goal (hence, game over screen). This includes Children as well and a return of the "Child killer" reputation.

I'd also like to see Traits return, and not just converted into overpowered (and really, the only worthwhile) Perks

More interesting and original Perks. Do we REALLY need 10 perks that add "15 points to whatever"? How about Perks that effect the game?

I definitely am looking forward to increased difficulty. One thing I didn't like about Fallout 3 was that it was far too easy to become a master of just about everything. The base stats also didn't count for much at all, except maybe intelligence. There were no difficult sacrifices to make at either at character creation or throughout the rest of the game.

Also, multiple companions would be nice. The companions in Fallout 3 really did nothing but get in the way.
