They should get GOOD ANIMATIONS AND CHARACTER MOVEMENTS. Enemies are awkward to shoot at, and talking to people is the most awkward.

I'm no graphic whore, but the graphical and animation limitations really held back Fallout 3. I still love the game to pieces though.
Update the graphics and animations. Everything else you guys mentioned are also very good ideas!

Well i have to say, love every one of your ideas.
Why are you not working on this game??

More housing is a definite must! I'd also like an easier way of placing items.
I like decorating my room you see and just dragging stuff in mid air can get quite frustrating.

Also, thank you for describing my loss of limb idea in good detail.
Thanks, man. I've still been adding more to my list. :p
And yeah, I agree about the item dragging. It was a tad frustrating for me to decorate my living quarters. I think it should be kept the way it is everywhere outside your room/house, but when you're in your living quarters it should revert to a Garry's Mod type of item placement that lets you carry things around as if they're weightless.

Meanwhile, I am disappointed that I can't blow a Radscorpion's tail off without killing it. Sad.

There's one major thing that they took out that I want put back in my Fallout.

The ability to punch a giant rat in the groin.

If I can do that, I'll be a happy wastelander.

One of the features I am looking forward to is the new companion inventory management. That's going to be so nice.

I like the OPs blowing off of limb idea. I think there was a zombie game I played that did that. It was pretty creepy, but it could work here too.

My suggestion, no more metro tunnels. I could do without seeing another metro tunnel in this game.
On both the metro and atmosphere notes, I thought Fallout 3's atmosphere was great, a postapocalyptic world should feel barren and ruined to a degree, and it was well reflected in game. And on the metro note, if you live in D.C like I do and use those things every day, it takes on a whole new level of creepy to see them ruined, or to even travel through them on foot. That said New Vegas can do with out them.

And God yes to more mutated animals.

I am with more variety in mutated critters, more customization for the character, living amputees in fights. Good times.

I just want to see the bugs fixed. I'm not getting my hopes up, Bethesda games are always quite buggy.

Use the Tactics weapon set. Limiting Fallout to "No real guns" is stupid in my opinion. It's not a completely different universe, it diverged shortly after WWII. It's the world that would have resulted had MacArthur nuked the Chinese in Korea, like he wanted to. So WWII weapons and maybe AK-47s are completely doable. And lest ye think this was just Tactics, the first two Fallouts had Desert Eagles in them. In the flavor text, it attributes their popularity to "an interest in 20th century movies."(Snatch?) That doesn't exactly sound like an entirely different universe. It irks me that Fallout 3 insisted it was a different universe, something previous games had never done. Examples? Tommyguns, a Hummer, and the Preacher comics.

More ammo starvation. The original Fallouts were guilty of this too. It's a wasteland, yet I find hundreds of shells lying around?

The Steel Scourge, the evil option from the end of Tactics. The Brotherhood of Steel becomes a xenophobic fascist Inquisition, killing anything the least bit mutated. The Enclave are played out as bad guys, it would be a nice twist that the knights who save your ass in the first game are now the biggest threat to NCR and the population in general. On the West Coast, we've no idea what they've been doing for over a century, other than that they wanted Vertibird plans.

Oh... And weapons not made out of Playdoh with some actual durability. I felt like I was in some kind of world without actual metal. Guns do not break down like that, not after one single decent firefight.

There was just one thing that annoyed me in Broken Steel/Point Lookout/Zeta - enemies with incredibly high defense/hit points. Those damn Reavers, Overlords or whatever, and aliens took forever to kill...

Just making another post on here to say that I'm loving all of the ideas so far! I'm glad everybody seems to think my idea was one of the better ones and thats great!
Keep up the ideas and hopefully some may even get into the game!
On the train now, on the mobile hence me not replying to anybodies ideas, but keep it up I'm sure you all can think of plenty more.

Got training. Now, I hope when in back later I've go more ideas.

Cheers guys.

I really want to see a standard sniper rifle with at least half decent damage, the gauss rifle took a while to unlock, and apart from the... reservists(?) rifle, wich still had pretty low damage, sniper rifle damage never left the low 50's.

Also vechiles, not tanks or an APC but maybe some kind of walker vechile to get you from palce to place a little faster, of course that wouldn't be a good thing to have from the start of the game, so maybe unlock it at level 20 or something similar so it doesn't make travel between objectives too easy when you're still getting your legs.

More power armour, with cool trench coats. =D

Weapon mods is something i'm gald to see encorperated into the new fallout, maybe i'll just end up plonking a scope onto a more powerful rifle, rather than sticking to a sniper rifle.

The trailer video had a great feeling of "what the fuck? I want to know". I want that feeling throughout the game, just gradual explanation and then more mystery. Or even have the characters not tell you easily. For some you'd have to torture, interogate, do dirty work for more information. A mythos that you can look at like Star Trek geeks and go "Hey! That might work!... in real life!... cool!". No load screens except for making jumps and cutscenes. Immersion like Red Dead Redemption's gameplay. Vehicles, but not cars... a hoverboard, or mutant animal of some sort... also you can tame other mutant animals. Co-Op. I want to fear and cherish multiplayer. NPCs during a multiplayer session. Alot of them. That respond to whatever is happening to them. They start neutral but if there is a gun fight, the protectors defend, civilians run. I want to walk into a city with an objective intelligently made and placed, and I want to plan how to complete that, by myself or with others. I won't get into detail though.

I want the original Fallout atmosphere to return. Fallout 3 greenish-trashy backround was boring and uninteresting.

Also real life firearms such as AK-47, MP5 e.t.c.
AK-47=chinese assult rifle, and why would real life guns be in a game with an alternate reality where there was a nuclear war 200 years ago and its still like the fifties, with robots.

Weapons that do not break after using them for 5 minutes, that doesn't make sense. I know this is meant to be post-apocalyptia and all but come on.
Also Geckos.

The Chinese Assault Rifle is a very poor and lobotomized cousin of the AK-47... It's durability is shit by comparison considering that the AK is one of the most sturdy guns ever built. However, you are absolutely correct about timeline. Real Life guns from the last 20 or so years just wouldn't exist as the world they were invented in doesn't exist. Klasnikov or however you spell his name, probably was never born and thus couldn't invent the sexy AK-47, etc etc.

Oh, damn, I keep forgetting...

Enemy respawns in dungeons. Seriously, I clear out tunnels and nothing EVER comes back to them? Some places I understand but the metro tunnels and whatnot should have a constant concern about Feral Ghouls and Super Mutants infesting them.

While it was downright retarded in Oblivion for every dungeon to have monster respawns, it makes sense for a number of areas to refill with critters since they are drawn to certain areas. Hell, I think it would have been nice to never know what you will find in subsequent visits to random tunnels.
