Anime fans.

I like anime, I really do, but sometimes the super fans just take it waaay to far!

Basically this for me,I hate the people who treat Japan like some sort of paradise for anime fans where crimes never happen and random hot girls blow you in the street.It's a country like any other and it has it's own problems.

On a more specfic note: Madoka Magika. I thought it was a fine deconstruction when I watched it as it aired.A bit too dark for the sake of being dark and a villain who has no understanding of thermodynamics but a great show none the less. However most of the fandom treats it like the second coming of Christ and refuse to hear anything bad against it.

You should see some of the Evangelion fans. To them, there will never be an anime as godly as Evan-freaking-gelion! I think it's an amazing anime, but come on already. There are other anime shows just as good.

Oh yeah, I kind of forgot/blocked them from memory.I really was never around any eva fanboys like I was for madoka.

Everything these days. Fans seem to be whiny snots everywhere you go. Especially fans of long established series that idealize the old through rose coloured glasses of their nostalgia and whine about how the new is not the same.

Sonic fans too. I really like the Sonic games but there's a reason the fandom is infamous around the internet *shudders*

Why you gotta remind me of them? Not only is there the fan art, but they complain amongst each other about EVERYTHING.

There has yet to be a fandom I've actually felt a part of without being mildly-to-very concerned about the extreme fanaticism some fans have. That's one of the reasons I left the MLP group on this site to enjoy the show on my own in a much quieter way.

There are some quite frustrating PS3 fanboys out there, especially on IGN...it's frustrating, because I love Sony, but I think every console has a place in society today. These guys just promote petty console rivalries and bicker about the most pointless things.

I guess the Minecraft fanatics. Honestly, I like the game, its a good little timesink but some of those hardcore guys are literally fanatics. I think the most extreme example Ive seen is some guy who said he felt the wolves were pointless; over the course of 3 or 4 pages, he had various people tell him how he was a fucking idiot and couldn't understand Notch's vision and stuff, it was insane.
