I don't have any particular dislike for any fandom really, unless they try to push it on you to the point when a simple "I'm sorry, I've played/seen/read this, and I'm simply not that enthused about it" won't get them to shut up. If they don't incessantly bother me about it (which from what I've seen is a very rare thing among most of these fandoms, I don't really see a lot of them outside of their respective forums and message boards) then I have no quarrel with them.

In my opinion, insulting someone for enjoying something a lot just because you don't understand their fandom, makes you look like an arse hole...

Yaoi fangirls really grind my gears. One can not google search pictures of Yu Narukami or Yosuke Hanamura without seeing pictures of the two smacking lips.

This, a thousand times this. I hate google imaging any anime/game character because of the inordinately large amount of yaoi in the results. It'd be fine if there was more yuri to balance it out but sadly there isn't and if there is it's mostly futa. Naruto has to be the worst offender of this, damn Naruto fans and their fanart, way too many Sasuke/Naruto pics.

Can't you just use safe search?

Clopping is basically jacking of to MLP R34. It's an unfortunate part that comes with every fandom.

No matter what it is I have a philosophy when it comes to elitism, arrogance, and superiority. It probably applies to a lot of these fan bases.

Elitism is valid, Superiority exists, Arrogance is deserved. Those who are truly superior, deserve to be elitist, and earn the right to be arrogant are those who know not to be. These people can only be observed, never self proclaimed and if told that they are, they are humble enough to accept it but not take advantage of it because their praises come form others but their only satisfaction comes from what they did not from the recognition it gained.

But then again, every fandom has these kinds of people, so it probably doesn't even count. Also, the Party Temple is one of the greatest things ever made. So yeah, I really haven't even delved that deep in almost any fandoms, so I can't really think of any.

I think a lot of people are missing the point of this thread. You're supposed to be talking about something that you enjoy but whose fans annoy you. You obviously don't watch MLP so that doesn't count.

OT: A lot of CoD and Halo fans annoy me, I enjoy playing both games but both fandoms are full of people arguing about what is and isn't considered "skill" and almost every possible tactic save for a few is "noobish". Also MLP, but other people have already covered that.

Oh, your first post said you didn't. Also, yes that is what clopping is, but its not the first group of people on the internet with a fucked up fetish and it certainly won't be the last. Cloppers tend to keep to themselves too, the bronies who annoy me are the one's who go around wearing fedoras and pony shirts, regurgitating memes like "20% cooler" ad hominem, using "everypony" in real life and obsessing over "converting" people.

Motherfucking Classic Fallout fans.
They just absolutely shun with an intense hatred, anything that is not the original game. A good portion of them don't even like Fallout 2, even though the games both look and act the same! Why? Because those fans don't like the fact that there are so many Easter Eggs in it. You would not believe the revile those people have for Fallout: Tactics and Fallout 3.

As once brilliantly stated, "Over the years, the Fallout community has been gradually distilled and refined into glittering gems of hatred.".

I love Warhammer 40K...can't stand talking with a lot of the folks who hang out at the game store about it.

I love Sci-Fi and Fantasy...will never go to a convention again in my life.

I love Animation and by virtue of that, Anime...I won't even skim the anime section at the local video store anymore.

I actually really do enjoy the new My Little Pony cartoon. And that's the most you'll hear me say about the subject because...Bronies.

Same goes for Video Games, Star Trek, Star Wars, World of Warcraft, Dr. Who, Transformers, Dungeons & Dragons, anything White Wolf Games publishes, Comic Books, Manga, toys and any other geeky subject I may be passionate about but refuse let dominate my life to the point where I can't carry on a rational conversation.

'Clop' is a ponified version of 'fap', you 'clop' to pony related porn. Now, we bronies are a creative bunch - but a whooole lotta people create more than just music and PMVs.

That's right; there's Brony artists who dedicate themselves to rule 34 MLP.

Now, I've been storing up this rant for quite a while, so now it's time to unleash it.

A lot of uneducated people say 'Omg brony u r paedophile lololol' and you know what? They're right. The MLPs are designed to appeal to children, and just like most programmes their characters are designed to look the same-ish age as their target audience. Now I know the Mane Six are supposed to be in their late teens according to hints from the cast, but just look at them. Head bigger in comparison to their bodies. Eyes big in comparison to their head. No visible body hair (relating to clop pictures here) and no breasts or other signs of maturity.
They activate the parts of our brains that relate to children, and if you find that sexy then there's some damn bad news for you.

This is casually proven by how mad I and other get at people 'clopping' to ponies - their childlike appearance is invoking our protective instincts towards children - we want to protect them just as we would protect human children. Never in my life have I felt any hatred of rule 34 until I found out about clopping.

Even if you don't view ponies as animals and don't think of it as zoophilia they're still designed to look like and appeal to kids.

Now I'm not saying all bronies clop - I'm one myself and it's just a very small percentage of our fandom that does it, and if you like clop it doesn't mean you that you have any desire to actually molest a child. It's just that this whole sexualised ponies thing feels so goddamn wrong that I can't even love and tolerate it.

So please cloppers, for the love of God/Buddha/Pan/Science/His Great and Holy Noodleyness, either fap to humanised clop where they're portrayed as adult men/women or keep it where the internet can't find it and judge the rest of us along with you.

Anime fans.

I like anime, I really do, but sometimes the super fans just take it waaay to far!

Basically this for me,I hate the people who treat Japan like some sort of paradise for anime fans where crimes never happen and random hot girls blow you in the street.It's a country like any other and it has it's own problems.

On a more specfic note: Madoka Magika. I thought it was a fine deconstruction when I watched it as it aired.A bit too dark for the sake of being dark and a villain who has no understanding of thermodynamics but a great show none the less. However most of the fandom treats it like the second coming of Christ and refuse to hear anything bad against it.

Well if your primary expierence with a culture is a form of media you like it makes sense to idolize the place. Plus Japan is doing really well as far as technological advancment, crime prevention, and economics. Though one thing I have noticed is in almost every single anime the city is infested with street gangs of thugs who will radomly attack people for no reason that the law never ever seems to deal with. Knowing Japan's crime rate this seems really really odd. I know its a plot device but still.

There's a lot of Cosplayers who make me feel sick.
I think it's mainly due to the websites I visited, but I've seen things such as "fat people should be banned at cons!" "Why do black people even BOTHER!?" "Ugly people should not cosplay!"
All found on Gaia Online I think. Don't know too much about that website.

I also have OtakuHouse on Facebook, they have little competitions and say a Cosplay has the slightest mistake, people will be all over it.
Instead of leaving constructive criticism, they'll just say, "No!" "Fat and ugly!" "You ruined the character!!11!!"
God forbid the person doesn't get the cosplay spot on, even if they put loads of effort into the outfit, people just act like such cunts in the comments.
I don't know if it's a superiority thing with some of them, but they certainly need taking down a peg or two.
