The fandom I REALLY hate though is that of Punk music. It makes up a lot of what I listen to, but a good portion of the people who like it are completely devoid of intelligence and valid opinion, and will argue to no end about what's "Punk" and who the "Posers" are

OT: There are parts of most fandoms that drive me off the wall. I like some anime, but the less said about parts of the anime fandom, the better. See also: video games, fantasy/SF novels.
I've got a couple
Comic book fans in general. They're so focused on legitimizing comics to literary audiences that will never recognize them that they shun all the fun.
Batman fans more specifically, especially since Nolan made it that much more "acceptable" to like him. I like Batman too but so many comic book fans want everything to be more like him.
Now for the ones that have already been mentioned.
Mass Effect fans. The series as a whole is so good that the fan outrage over the ending wouldn't be justified even if you replaced the God-Child with Twilight Sparkle* and revealed that the Catalyst is triggered with hugs.
Anime fans: You found something in another culture you like and that's great but quit pulling your hair out over all the ignorant americans/europeans around you who don't appreciate it or know as much about it as you do.

Fandoms I dislike, of things I like? Well, there's two off the top of my head -
- Bronies, but this is in truth a love/hate relationship due to some very awkward, unresolved and conflicting feelings about the show. It's a long and complex story I will not write out to save boring you all.
- More relevant to the Topic would be the entire Command & Conquer fanbase, whom in personal opinion are on tier with groups like Sonic Fans. Every time a new C&C game is announced, it's met with cries of "RUINED FOREVER!". Even more hilarious is that Fans will often dig back previously complained about mechanics - for example, one common comparison on the run up to C&C 4 was between the Crawler system and the Workers system of Generals...despite previous fan complaints over the Workers system. Wat.
- Also, Games Workshop fanboys, and to an extent the store staff themselves. It may be different for other areas, but we're talking about a Fanbase whose average reaction to anything is pure, rabid hatred towards anything and everything that exists ever. Not to mention other players will constantly try to misinterpret rules, exploit loopholes and are just generally terrible, terrible sports. Much like your average DOTA/LoL/HoN player (though to be fair, Games Workshop probably deserves the fans they get - especially with the ridiculous price hikes and Matthew Ward).

What even is a fandom? It's a weird word to me, "fandom." Isn't every group of fans for anything a fandom? Is it a positive term, is it a negative term? How do you actually interact with a fandom at all? All there is to do is be a fan, perhaps look at some fan works, talk with other fans about said interest, and...that's it. That's a fandom. Liking something, fan creations and discussion. From there, it's all a matter of luck.
Finding people who don't irritate you in one way or another, just like everyday life.
I can't really dislike an entire group of random people I never have to interact with fully and who aren't actually doing anything "wrong". Now as for certain people, that's a duh. But they aren't an entire fandom.
Cloppers are basically the side of the fandom that "likes", or creates porn based on the show. I'm fine with them, because of my main philosophy: If it doesn't involve real animals, real kids or real violence (not the kinky, consensual stuff) then I'm fine with it.samaugsch said:
Being an anime fan, there are certain parts which annoy the hell out of me, dub haters(aka weeaboos), i hate those goddam elitists who think you're not a true anime fan unless you watch it in the original japanese and dismiss all dubs are crap, especially the dubs which are better than the sub(eg. I have a mate that's very into Anime. He has watched pretty much everything out there, and refuse to watch dubbed animes. I was just reminded about him when I read your post, because he study japanese, and he complain about all the weeaboo nutjobs in his class that just want to study it because they are obsessed with Japanese anime culture.Kitsune Hunter said:
