There wasnt alot of cards that could beat the Collosus when it got released. And all those cards came after Mirrodin block. Tho I'm sure there was a couple of "Remove X when Y from game." cards like Resounding Silence. I remenber Swords of the Plowshares or something but that card was OLD!

Also when Collosus was out there was this card hanging around on the same block.

If it wasnt scary on its normal form, it just got scarier!

Phage.

I think that's her name.

Her effect is she kills anything she attacks, and if she attacks your opponent directly they lose.

Or that vampire where all opponents lose like 3 life a turn and you gain all the life lost that way.

I don't play card games. But I do collect game cards. I think my flying hippo avatar came from a MtG card:

So it would be that one. Because flying hippos KICK, ASS.

I suddenly want to find my old Magic the Gathering cards. What edition are they on now?

I can't remember my favorite card, but I certainly had a favorite deck. Sadly my memory on them is a little cloudy.

Word Of Blasting. Destroy target wall.

the best thing is the qoute:
"Walls? What Walls?"

Oh oh oh: And Lord Of The Pit! 7/7 Flying and trample! *glee*

And one that was just hilarious from 5th edition: Goblin Catapult (or something. Cant find it!)
But the card was a Goblin warOne goblin would sit in the "hand" of the catapult and be thrown towards the enemy. The text was something like this: 0/1 Creature gain flight until end of turn. destroy creature at end of turn. :)

DOH! I forgot my favorite flavor text cards!

Wall of Spears: "A stick is your friend. A pointed stick is your good friend. An army of pointed sticks is your best friend."

Trained Armadon: "They're trained to step on things. Enemy things."

Wilderness Elemental: "Don't be so quick to reclaim the thawing lands. They might have acquired a taste for freedom."

Platinum Angel just for not losing.

Really good with Darksteel Forge and whispersilk cloak.
Platinum Angel + Darksteel Forge + Whispersilk Cloak = (almost)Instant Tie?
No real tie. Unless your oponnent has also a Platinum Angel and the same combo cards. Then you have a permanant tie.

Blightning, Lightning Helix, Putrefy, Mortify, Electrolyze, Terminate. These are my staples, for multicolor decks at least.

Turn forests into 2/3 creatures for a turn with haste.

In all seriousness, I am working on building a black deck that is evil and does a ton of damage :)

I can't stop myself from pointing out that the card border should be gold. Those borders are for cards with the hybrid mana symbols.

Either Apocalypse-
or Swerve
.
Swerve is just hilarious- one game I was on 8 life, my friend casts Banefire for 8, which can't be countered- I used swerve to redirect it at him.
Apocalypse is just awesome. Remove all permanents from the game. No amount of protection, shroud, or indestructibility helps there. I prefer to play it with Greater Gargadon suspended- float the mana for apocalypse, sac all my permanents until Greater Gargadon has only 1 counter remaining, cast apocalypse, next turn I have a 9/7 w/o summoning sickness.

6/6 trampling on a second turn, most players either give up right then or lose in a couple of turns when they no longer have any lands to sack. Only lost once against a blue deck when I had the dream start of exploration, 3 forests, Argothian Wyrm and Birds of Paradise. Haven't played magic in a long while, but I still remember pwning some tournaments with my all green deck. Naturally I would get run over these days, but memories can be oh so nice.

Ouch. That has to be one of the most devastating combos I've ever heard of.

That's why I like Apocalypse so much. It completely wipes the board- unless you have a Worldgorger Dragon in play that is.

Well, Apocalypse when you have a Worldgorger Dragon (when it comes into play, all your permanents except it are RFG, when it leaves play they are returned to play) in play is even more devastating, but it's far harder and slower to pull off.
With Gargadon- turn 1 mountain, suspend Greater Gargadon.
Turn 2 mountain, play a raging goblin and a skirk prospector.
Turn 3 mountain- you can now play apocalypse if you really need to (sac both goblins for 2 red mana), but you're usually better off waiting unless they're playing Aggro.

You have to be really careful with something like Worldgorger Dragon. If someone gets rid of it with the comes into play ability on the stack, your permanents come back to play before they leave, which is really, really bad.

I dunno about that. How about these:
