There wasnt alot of cards that could beat the Collosus when it got released. And all those cards came after Mirrodin block. Tho I'm sure there was a couple of "Remove X when Y from game." cards like Resounding Silence. I remenber Swords of the Plowshares or something but that card was OLD!

Also when Collosus was out there was this card hanging around on the same block.

If it wasnt scary on its normal form, it just got scarier!
I dunno about that. How about these:

Ah! So there they were. I was looking for those but in the wrong blocks...I was really really convised they were from latter blocks...fail me.

But those cant scratch the Collosus equiped with Whispersilk, unless you aim at the equipment. But theres better Equipment destroy cards than those if not wrong.

I dunno a single card... if I had to choose, Avatar of Woe would have to be it, so nice to kill things on a whim.

Combo wise I have to enjoy the mindcrushing crazyness that is a deck based on Mind's Desire or on the Infinite life combo of Daru Spiritualist + (any en-Kor) + Starlit Sanctum.

Good Stuff

That's why I like Apocalypse so much. It completely wipes the board- unless you have a Worldgorger Dragon in play that is.
You have to be really careful with something like Worldgorger Dragon. If someone gets rid of it with the comes into play ability on the stack, your permanents come back to play before they leave, which is really, really bad.
True, but you can still float the mana for Apocalypse and then laugh as the exact same thing happens to their permanents.

Ah. Didnt know what protection of everything meant. Thought it was like the DarkSteel ability.

But The Prog isnt an industractable creature then? Then its not that scary! Since the Collosus just cant be destroyed or recieve any damage!

Dont really remenber any cards that can destroy the Collosus, but I stopped playing around Fifth Dawn and my MTG database is pretty much forgotten.

I have the Darksteel magazine around here...hmmm
Protection from all colors means you can't use spells on it either. And it never gets destroyed, just tossed back into your library like darksteel.

I've had brief encounters with the game and learned i was never any good at it. But from what I remember, I've gotta say i like the "Somthing Skypiercer" or something like that. No idea what the name of it really was, but it was this badass looking ogre thing.

Exploding borders, because it makes me think of all the lines on the map spontaneously blasting destroying border towns.

Rag Man. Ever since I read "The Gathering Dark" by Jeff Grub (one of the best authors for the M:TG books, in my opinion), he's been one of my favorite characters.

Coming in a close second is "Temper". You know, the one where Gerard says to Volrath "You've got your childhood wish at last. Now you get to die."

About Progenitus- It can't be targeted or damaged by anything, but it can still be affected by global spells and destroyed (e.g. Wrath of God, Apocalypse, Flowstone Slide, Bane of the Living, Wash Out- all of those will affect it)
Apocalypse will still remove it permanently too. ^_^

The last time i had a conversation about MTG, it was with a work mate who is now touring the world playing at all the tournaments.
My favourite card would have to be Thorn Elemental, just because it was my first card (also was a foil!)

I'd have to say German Lightning Bolt, because "Blitzschlag" is the absolute coolest card name I've ever heard.

Pick anything from Unhinged or Unglued. I love those cards. Some of them are just ridiculous.

Has won me a few games

Also this is fun
Heaps more, bury is always fun, I've also always liked carbonize. Haven't played in ages, that's all I can think of for now.

I remember this deck that I fought once. It involved using Animate Dead on Ambassador Lacquatus and Worldgorger Dragon. If you don't see the set-up coming, you'll lose your whole library through crafty stack manipulation (getting to know the interactions when you Animate Dead a Worldgorger Dragon made me scratch my head on more than one occasion).

I think you're referring to Krosan Cloudscraper:

Blazing Salvo. Simple, but efficient burning. One red mana for three or five damage? They don't make 'em like they used to anymore.
