You do realize that Avenged Sevenfold only has one album that can actually be classified as Metal, right? All the albums after that are just plain rock.

Death/grind:

Seems like you guys have hit up most of the good stuff already. I'd also suggest Darkest Hour, Amorphis, Imperanon, Moonsorrow, and Moonspell.

Bah. The best metal band is Rainbow.

Nobody else is as good at singing about wizards.

How can you be metal if you can't even sing about wizards?

You are.... so right... it's not even funny.

I personally like Meshuggah and Strapping Young Lad.

I'm a huge fan of Behemoth. People label them as Blackened Death Metal currently, allthough some of their older stuff is Black. They've got a new album in the works, and so far, judging by the studio report-vids, it'll be the best thing since Jesus.

Krisiun is also pretty decent if you like heavier stuff. The latest album, Southern Storm, had some kickass songs on it.

Children of Bodom are good too, if you can get past the technically difficult guitars. I'd sugest some of their older stuff, Hate Crew Deathroll is my favorite album by them.

Uhm... *skips through his iPod*

Oh yes, Zonaria for more melodic stuff. Hailing from Sweden, the fatherland of melodic death metal, they don't disappoint. Check out the Infamy and the Breed-album. 50 minutes of metal assault, right there.

Also, Lamb of God, Nightwish, Whitechapel and Vader. Can't be arsed to write anything about them. They are all equally awesome, I suggest checking out the songs Laid to Rest, Phantom of the Opera, This Is Exile and Helleluyah (God is Dead).

I don't listen to much death metal but I am rather fond of anything Peter Tagtren and Dan Swano are involved in e.g. Bloodbath, Hypocrisy, Edge of Sanity

I am partial to a bit of doom metal too.

Hmmm...I'm into the more melodic metal sound, stuff like Iron Maiden, Dio, Falconer, Hammerfall, R.A.I.N.B.O.W., Nightwish etc. Also into heavier stuff to a point, SOAD, Bodom, Metallica, Slayer, AS I Lay Dying, stuff like that. Once it gets more noise and less music I'm out, tho.

EDIT: How could I forget Jethro Tull? >.<

I think I saw one person who answered the question for "death metal" and everyone else who answered a mixture between deathcore, metalcore, nu metal, and trendy black metal.

Dying Fetus.
Origin.
Nile.
Suffocation.
Devourment.

Message me for more if you are interested.
Finally someone with good taste

I mentioned all of those except Devourment, but I've been trying to get into them lately.
