On Impulse by Animals as Leaders if that counts as it only gets metal in the last third

This is incredibly difficult for me, so I'll put a few:

or just about anything from the above album.

Megadeth: anything from Rust in Peace

Metallica: Fade to Black, One

Sonata Arctica: San Sebastian (Revisited)

Arch Enemy: The Immortal

Pantera: Cemetery Gates, Cowboys from Hell

Dream Theater: Metropolis Part 2 (the entire album), Pull me Under

Orphaned Land: Birth of the Three (The Unification)

Slayer: War Ensemble

Why is this in the Gaming Discusion? It should be in Off-Topic.
None the less I would say Fuel by Metallica.

I'll try to pick one song of the major genres(which is already hard enough).
With sub-genres, I think I could take a few hours just typing/sorting... XD
Let's see:

Thrash:

Speed:
OR

NWOBHM:

Power:

Medieval:

Folk:

Industrial:

Death:

Heavy:
OR

Black:

Metalcore:

Doom:

...I could go on, but that should suffice... ;-)

Have you heard anything from Deconstruction?

It's... beautiful. Like, as in, 'the best music I have ever heard' kind of beautiful...

Tell me you didn't just have an eargasm!
I didn't know anything from Deconstruction was released yet.

And... that song.... is just.... pure ecstasy. Wow.
I didn't think I could love him anymore but, now I do :D

While that is a (mostly decent list), you need to remove Shinedown, Trapt, Styx (really?), and Linkin Park from a "metal" list. Also, Dragon Force is power metal. I am insulted you would put Black Sabbath under heavy metal and then label Ozzy as glam. You know Ozzy was the lead singer of Sabbath, and wrote their songs along with Tony Iommi, right? You made many other mistakes with your sub-genres, but I would end up going off on tangents, so I will leave it at that. Though I am impressed you knew Sabbath played "Smoke on the Water" at some of their live shows when Ian Gillan was the frontman.
As for my favourites lately (lyrics are NSFW, by the way):

"Choke Sermon" by Lamb of God
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tgc5axO5ync

"Beyond Our Suffering" by As I Lay Dying
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZviKTG61q4

This one has NSFW imagery, but "Terror Starts at Home" by Beneath The Sky
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nckJm_tDJVc&NR=1&feature=fvwp

Or, "7861" by Beneath The Sky
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AS6DKB3hffA

(If you post and ask "does this constitute metal?", you are just insulting real metal heads. Please, stop.)

First off, thanks for pointing out my mistake. That should have been "Deep Purple who did Smoke on the Water", not Black Sabbath. That's what I get for not paying attention...

And second, some of these bands are considered "Nu Metal," which some fans think don't count as metal. These are just songs I like, but I won't bash your choices.

I'm sorry if I offended anybody.

Someone already posted a video of Paranoid. I'm also fond of Run to The Hills, Rock you like A Hurricane (and Wind of Change) but I'll post a video of Welsh Proto-Metal band Budgie for your edification.

I don't think I have a single favorite. Here are two I love though:

Empire by Chimaira (its funny to mention that this version comes up first in a Youtube search XP):
Omerta by Lamb of God:

Sepultura "Ratamahatta"

It goes really well in a game of 40k. Especially if you play Orks.
