My favourite obscure movies are:The Butterfly Effect - I've only met 2 people who've heard of it.
You mean the one where Aston Kutcher actually plays a brilliant part? That movie is fantastic.

Mine would be Ladri di biciclette [http://itpworld.wordpress.com/2008/12/14/bicycle-thieves-ladri-di-biciclette-italy-1948/], a movie no one I know (even on the internet) has ever heard of. I was lucky to see it, the public tv network over here broadcasted it a few months ago very late at night. I was just zapping along the channels when I saw that film starting. It's an Italian neo-realistic movie made in 1948, about a guy who's bike gets stolen. Such a simple concept, but it was very good.

Second place goes for Eraserhead. It's apperantly famous in the film world, and a cult classic, but I don't know anyone who has ever heard about it. It's he biggest what-the-fuck-fest (notice how I did not use the acronym, that's how wierd it was) I've ever seen.

For me it's either Paschendaele (Not obscure to Canadians, but not seen anywhere else) or Der Untertang(Downfall, a german production and the only thing I was ever happy to watch subtitled).
Isn't that the one that's been re-subtitled numerous times to show Hitler being pissed off at everything from the price of the Nikon D3X to the console wars?
Yes, that is exactly the movie, in it he is actually pissed off because he ordered an attack but the guy who was supposed to do it (Steiner) couldn't get enough troops together do he had to cancel, and that's what the general had to tell him which pissed him off so much. On top of that, those are how I found out about the movie in the first place.
I've been meaning to catch that movie for quite a while now, it's on my to-do list along with hundreds of others!

I love to learn about WWII, I managed to watch the entire World at War series (narrated by Laurence Olivier) in about 5 days..........26 episodes in all!
Yeah it's great, I have a whole box set about US Landing operations in the Pacific Theatre(D-Days of the Pacific), as well as a colour film record of the Western front from D-Day to the battle of Berlin and just after (D-Day to Berlin) as well as the complete history of Auswitz. Truly facinating stuff, Untertang provides a remarkable and personal account of the Nazi bunkers as the third reich crumbled (It's based on the memoirs of those who were there). Watch it in it's original German, you get a better feel for it that way.

Jareth is awesome. The soundtrack is also awesome.
That's my second favourite film! Is it really that obscure? It really shouldn't be. And, yeah, the soundtrack is fantastic. 'As the World Falls Down' is one of my fav songs evar.

I like Splinter. It's a very original and well-done monster flick. Also The Cube; Saw would not exist if it weren't for The Cube.

The princess Bride. A classic comedy, completely lost on everyone i know.
One of the best movies ever made. The sword fight is the best scene of the movie.

EDIT:
oh god and the princess birde as well, while other kids watched bambi and crap as a kid I watched that. Loved the giant and the spanish guy.
