GATTACA is a great film. I wouldn't call it obscure but that's because we had to watch it in Religion class, I loved it.

Interesting fact: The name GATTACA is made up of the fourletters in the human genome.

Depends on which Butterfly Effect you are referring to since there is the movie version of the short story, and another who time travels threw the blanks in his memories.
I meant the time travelly one. Y'know the where...

Aston Kutcher actually plays a brilliant part?
I didn't know there was a short story though.

Death Bed: The Bed That Eats. Better known by its misnomer (courtesy of Patton Oswalt) as Death Bed: The Bed That Eats People. You can't just call it Death Bed; it has to be "Death Bed: The Bed That Eats People".

Hmm.. Cannibal the Musical. Or is that a blockbuster?

Mine is "Let the Right One in".

It's a eastern European movie about a psychotic 11 year old boy who makes friends with a 12 year old girl, who happens to be a blood thirsty vampire. Think "Interview with a Vampire" meets a childhood romance, with subtitles and a hell lot of gore. It's a fantastic movie, best thing about Vampires since Buffy the vampire slayer.

Also, notice how you haven't heard of or seen this movie, or if you have, which you haven't, no one else you know has. That makes it obscure. Notice how everyone has heard of or watched "Shaun of the Dead". That's because it's not.
You should read the book, it's much better :) (not sure it's translated to english though). And since when was Sweden a East European country? :p
Sweden, Holland, Germany, same thing really.

Castle of Cagliostro. Only me and a friend of mine who knows of Lupin the Third, are the only people that I know of who've watched it.
I consider that one of Miyazaki's best works, albeit the other Miyazaki fans I know are quick to wag their fingers at me since it was only a 'for hire' picture, contrast to Mononoke-Hime. And while it's true Mononoke is my favorite Miyazaki, there's absolutely no denying what Miyazaki brought to the Lupin series. It's certainly the best Lupin movie, to say nothing else. I actually use that film to 'sell people' on anime under the pitch, "I know you've got misgivings about it, but give this a go."

"Dodgeball" or "Cabin Fever".

Mine is "Shaun of the Dead" and "The Fifth Element".
None of those are oscure. Seriously.

My favourite obscure movies are:
  • The Butterfly Effect - I've only met 2 people who've heard of it.
    Zombie Strippers
Really, I doubt I know two people who haven't heard of the buterfly effect, I will, however, agree with zombie strippers.

OP fails at obscure.
I think the most obscure movie that I still enjoyed would have to be a clockwork orange.

Why has nobody mentioned Cube yet :(
The Cube trilogy is one of my favorite trilogies ever. I can recite all three from memory at this point.

Have you seen the original Cube short? It's a 45ish minute short film by Jim Henson (yes, Muppet man) about a man in a Cube who essentially is forced to question his state of existence and goes insane as a result.
I have heard of this 45 minute film but I have yet to see it.

Also, why the FUCK did nobody tell me there was a Cube TRIOLOGY?

Not one of the movies mentioned here are considered "Obscure". I now feel old again.

My favorite movie that's actually obscure is Koyaanisqatsi. I just picked up both it's sequels, and plan on watching them later tonight, but Koyaanisqatsi is an amazing movie.

Koyaanisqatsi isn't obscure at all.....especially since the GTAIV trailer ripped it off.

But it is totally superb. The first sequal, Powaqqatsi, couldn't really hold my attention for more than 20 minutes and I've yet to see any of Naqoyqatsi (although the reviews don't encourage me too much).

oh and how many people have seen Equilibrium? that always seemed like an under-the-radar cult hit
I saw it a while back. It could have been better, but it was still a great movie with damn excellent choreography.

EDIT:
Also, I'd like to think that Kung Pow: Enter the Fist qualifies as obscure. If it doesn't, let me know.

For obscurity: The Guyver live action films (Mmmm... cheese...)
Damn. That is rather obscure, especially the second film, and for those of you unaware, Solid Snake himself (David Hayter) stars in that one.

OP, i'm sorry to say but all of those movies you mentioned, a LOT of people have seen them, you really thought no-one's seen "Dodgeball", or "Shaun of the Dead"? that's like saying my favourite obscure movie is "Fight Club"

OT: "Children of Men"? i'm not sure it is obscure, but i know a lot of people i know have not seen it.

I love this movie but no one's ever heard of it.
I bloody adore that movie, its great!!

My favourite obscure one would probably be Magnolia, Run Lola Run, or Downfall..

Out of all of those I only know of 6 people who've heard of any of them
