To be honest, I'm sorta split. I actually really like Boccob the Uncaring, the Great Librarian and Archmage of the Deities, from Greyhawk. And if not him, then...

<3 I love Athena. I've been reading the Odyssey for Classical Civilizations, and she's just such a clever character.

also, whoever said Dormin from SotC, YES. I love its dual nature...

I consider all deites in the world to be fictional but alright, avast I'll play your game vile scoundrel!
Wow, that was quick!
Also, I should have thought of the Elder Scrolls, nice pick.
Aye when I come to think of it, all the gods in Elder Scrolls were pretty god damn awesome! I mean there's the Hunter Deity Hircine who was really fucking scary first time I fought him:p Azura is quite tragic, Nocturnal is cool. Huh, well done Bethesda :p
wait you could fight the gods in oblivion at them statues? if yes, ill go play tomarrow. :D

*ugh...* Look, being "anti-religious" doesn't make you cool. I'm getting sick of every thread I go in having a thousand "Look at me! I'm atheist! I'm an individual! I'm not a conformist!" comments. Seriously. You know what he's talking about, so there's no reason to be a condescending jerk about it. It's like if him saying "What's your favorite video game item?" and you saying "Well, technically they aren't really items because they're just a mass of pixels that look like items." But I'm just preaching to a brick wall. I had to get it off my chest because it's really annoying. Welcome to the internet, you know?

Sorry about that... I would have to say the Emperor from Warhammer 40k. I was actually saddened when I heard one of my units shouted "The Emperor has abandoned us!"
yeah your right about your rant.

OT: I have seen many gods in games I believe but I cant think of one right now... ill be back on you with that.

Ka the Preserver, from Hollow World. A dinosaur who ascended to godhood? Ya can't beat that without, I dunno, being a ninja-pirate?

If I lived in the Mass Effect universe (which we may, think about it) then I'd totally be worshiping the goddess... if the Asari would let me, of course.

You don't need Mass Effect for that. There are plenty of real-life Goddess-worshippers out there. And yes, those fertility rituals actually do involve exactly what you're thinking.

Thrym from Dungeons and Dragons, 3.5 edition, Frostburn. Guy may be evil, and only an intermediate power level, but he is willing to seriously hook a Cleric up with some divine might.

On the good side of things...Hades. In the original Greecian mythology, he was pretty much the only nice, intelligent, competent god in the entire Mythos. Everyone else was a failure, a jerk, or stupid. Which makes it all the more tragic that he gets protrayed as a bad guy in both the Disney movie and those stupid chronicles of Perceus Jackson. Although to be fair, he is really more of a jerk than evil in the adventures of Perceus Jackson.

Just to be different, gonna go ahead and choose an obscure god here, kudos to whoever can figure out what hes from without using google or wiki, Sajuuk.

Edit : not to say there aren't some really good choices in here, seeing alot of repeats though, especially all you crazy elder scrolls people lol

Fun Fact: Athena was portrayed as an utter ***** in the war against Troy, which directly preceeded the Odyssey. She actually tried to kill thousands of people and destroy a man's life because he picked Aphrodite over her in a beauty contest. Of course, because Hera is perpetuatly portrayed as a *****, she was the third entrant in the contest and did the exact same thing.

Quite frankly, like I posted above: Hades was the only consistently decent god in the entire Greecian mythos.

No you can't fight the gods in Oblivion, in Morrowind's Bloodmoon expansion you fought Hircine as part of one of the later quests.

Also, apologies for double post >_<

I actually find the three goddesses (Din, Nayru, and Farore) from Legend of Zelda to be pretty interesting. There is really enough information provided in the games that you could probably start your own LoZ religion.
