Greatest movie ever. If you haven't seen it, check the trailer out on youtube. My personal favorite:

'I'm declaring war on anyone who sells drugs in the community'

'But Black Dynamite, I sell drugs in the community'

Further proof of greatness? The plot summary includes the words: After a Kung-Fu Battle with President Nixon.

- Black Dynamite
Black Dynamite: Lemme speak to the man in charge.
Militant 2: Sarcastically, I'm in charge.

The great bit about that scene is the look on Black Dynamite's face. For about a half-second he looks at the director as if to say "WTF?!".
The scene with the boom mic is good too. It's a great spoof film, one of the best ever made. I'm still waiting for part 2. Black Dynamite goes to Africa to help fight the oppression of 'The Man' there, only to find that 'The Man' is actually Chuck Norris, played by, Chuck Norris.

They haven't made a film like that in a while. Spoof comedies today have lost all subtlety. Black Dynamite is funny because they obviously know the genre they're spoofing.

I just found out it's getting a theatrical release here in the UK on the 13th (I'm ashamed to admit I watched it online as its only available in the USA), but I can't find a single Cinema that is showing it anywhere.

It performed poorly in the US box office, despite good reviews.

You ninja...

Here is my all time favorite: Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off. - Tyler Durden (Fight Club, 1999)

I'm a big war movie fan, and this is the most inspirational one i've ever heard.

Your sins will be read to you ceaselessly, in shifts, for eternity. The list will never end.

It actually didn't perform that poorly, on the DVD commentary they mention that it was only shown at a handful of theaters on the west coast for two or three weeks. They never planned a mass release for it. It was essentially just an art-house style picture, one that they hoped would make its money on the DVD sales. There are a lot of scenes in the film that are exact copies of other films, but Michael Jai White and Byron Minns did an excellent job scripting it to reflect all the subtleties of Blaxploitation films, the character himself modeled on a combination of Shaft and former NFL star Jim Brown's performances in his roles.
