Personally Petas ethical standpoint seems more like a religious doctrine to me. It dosen't base itself much on reason or debate the problems with how ambigous the ethical question of speciesism is.
PS: When on the topic, if there where another sapient animal on earth and we decided to treat it different than humans. Would that be racism or speciesism?

I saw a hippi family of late 20 somethings in a restaurant about 2 weeks ago who were vegetarians.
The place is known for making custom burgers that are so big they cut them in 4. They got their kid a veggi platter while they both had light salads. I'm not one to say how to raise a child but regardless of your preferences I think kids should eat meat until they make it their own decision not to.

This is less a case of freedom of speech and more a case of false advertising. What this advert really needs as a clearly visible disclaimer, stating that claim is based solely on militant moon-bat logic and any science on the subject clearly contradicts the claim. Then it would be fine, just fine.

See, that's what I'd love to do, just organize a BBQ cookoff on a street outside their offices. Get the permits and everything, name it a street festival or whatever. And just to add insult to injury, keep one grill clean and clear with a box of veggie burgers and veggie dogs so if they want to join in they can cook there.Athol said:

meat has proteins in it that you cant get from other sources. PETA is just a extremist group, who believe animals have more rights then humans. If i had the choice to save either a human or an animal, id always pick the person.
