I was going to point out how stupid this article was, but all the best burns were already taken. Kudos to the other 480 commenters.
i completely agree, it may be annoying but to claim it as assault is a bit farLoopyDood said:I'm going to have to agree with her that it's damn annoying when somebody does something like that, but it just seems some people are constantly looking for excuses to complain about things.
Did I say ban? No. Well, okay, I said force the other guy to log off which is tantamount to a ban, but I don't see what's the problem with telling Sony to make an ignore function. Even an ancient game like Ragnarok Online has an ignore button and I've exercised it plenty of times, whether it's to shut up the noob who begs for free stuff or to shut up the guys who have a hard-on for my sprite boobs. It's humourous if it happens a couple of times, but when someone persistently follows you, you want them to go the hell away so you can continue to enjoy what you're doing. By logging off, you're just affirming that they win, and increase the likelihood that it will happen again.targren said:Welcome to teh Internetz. Is the guy a knob? Absolutely. Should he be sterilized in the name of evolution? Probably.
The problem with the solution of banning the "griefers" is that, if you ban everyone who does something that gets someone else's panties in a bunch, you might as well just shut down the servers. No, I mean all of them.
To illustrate my point: Just imagine Jack Thompson with access to "the button."
Wait, were you hoping someone would imply you're gay? Or jeez maybe you're a girl idk lolAgentNein said:Isn't it sort of funny that me defending someone elses post is suddenly an issue only when that other poster is female? If it was a guy posting the original post, there would be no such accusations. HMMMMMMMM
That's the problem, not the norm. If people should be worried about anything, it's not "avatar" harassment, it's the people that get emotionally attached to their avatars that should be questioned.Dr. Jessica Wolfendale said that "A lot of people in these games don't draw a strong distinction between the avatar and themselves.

Seriously, this isn't sexual assault. This is some douchebag being an idiot and thinking that he's funny.
