Female protagonists who aren't neccesarily beautiful but whom you like anyway?

I felt the female characters in Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay were portrayed in a very realistic and mature way.

I adore her psychotic cheerfulness. I'd walk through Minefield for her giggling joy.

I loved Moira too, such a great character.

Jesus people, are you serious? Ashley Williams? Alyx Vance? Zoey?
They are all very attractive women with perfectly symetrical faces, flawless figures and no physical defects at all. Just because they aren't presented in overtly sexual way, doesn't mean they're not beautiful. I've never seen a plainly unattractive woman as a positive character in a video game.
The truth is good looking people provoke more sympathy and that's why they're always be protagonists.

I know this has been quoted into oblivion, but it's so true it's worth mentioning again.

I actually liked Emma from MGS2; she was cute! Hell, I replayed that part dozens of times to try and snipe Vamp before Emma was killed.

Let's see here, who else.... Alyx is attractive, so is Sheva. Jill is, too.... BUT NOT AS MUCH IN RE5! There's another one!

And I liked Moira's bubbly-ness.

I have to agree with Kukul, but also with alalge. You'd be hard-pressed to find a female protagonist that isn't a looker in some way. Heather from Silent Hill 3 is still attractive, unfortunately, but she's far from a D-cup and has realistic skin with fickle freckles that appear haphazardly everwhere. She doesn't act like your typical heroine, for sure. She's still a bit spunky for my tastes, but at least she has the good sense to be scared shitless.

One more thing... unless someone mentions any of the female ghouls from the Fallout series, STFU. I guess that includes me, since I haven't played it long enough to meet any. I enjoyed every second of Fallout 3, though.
