I am disappointed that they've made it so obvious.

I'd always assumed there were plenty of female Turians in Mass Effect, but that they looked and sounded broadly similar to male ones, at least as far as human eyes were concerned.

Really disappointed, this design has no potential for jokes.

This mean that there'll be a MP update sometime soon?
That'd be cool. Still lookin' to get a Volus unlocked.

as much as i liked the ME series and downloaded a few of the DLCs for ME2, i cannot be bothered to do so for ME3.

what is the point? you know how the series ends. so you know ahead of time that anything you do as an aside in a DLC in ME3 will have virtually no effect on the outcome. so i ask again, what is the point?

not to mention that i thought aria was a complete joke in ME -- it would have been nice to blow her head off. "don't fuck with aria" ... whatever. she as intimidating as a lunch box, and as interesting.
More adventures with your squadmates, more stories. You get to explore another facet of the ME universe... you could argue that dlc like shadow broker ad overlord didn't have any bearing on how mass effect 2 ended but you still bought them didn't you.

I like the design, I always wondered how different female Turians would be compared to the male ones and they look close enough, but different enough at the same time.

people still play this?? wow
Sure, they do. Say about BioWare what you will, but they're their best to keep people interest in the multiplayer: free dlc weapons, gear, characters and maps, weekly balance changes, the new challenge system and its banners, the upcoming N7 Day event. Fans wanted Collectors as a new enemy faction. Guess what, they got em. Fans jokingly asked to play as Volus characters. They got em.
What and WHAT!?

I know its been sometime since I played ME3 multiplayer, but what?
Yep. It was right before Borderlands 2 came out. There are collecters as enemies, playable volus(as well as 14 other characters they will release one at a time over 2 months), challanges, and much more. I think its called either redemption or retribution. All the multipayer dlc names start with R.

I guess it's just from only having seen male Turians, but the lack of head-plates kinda bugs me. Without them, it just looks kinda like a normal humanoid wearing a bone mask. o_O
Yeah, I know. I kinda feel like they should have those head-plates too. In ME2 during Garrus's romance scene, he tells Shepard that if she was a Turian he'd be complimenting her fringe. This leads me to believe they should have one just like the male Turians. They'd look a lot better too, not to say that this one doesn't.

I think she looks incredibly stupid. Given how saurian this species is, there isn't a reason for the females to be so primate-like (aka human looking). It's incredibly lazy, but these are the same people who thought a purple color filter and lens flair constituted an alien as well.

To be honest the first thing I thought when I looked at the picture was Drell with a spiky mask. Quickly googled an image and found that there are some similarities...

Just have to say turians must have felt pretty lonely for the first two games... well there was always the Asari to keep them busy *cough*if you know what I mean. *cough*

The N7 Day is an event to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the release of Mass Effect. Though I don't really know what exactly is going to happen. This announcement [http://masseffect.bioware.com/community/n7day/] is pretty much all that is known right now.

And yes, you can unlock two Volus characters in ME3 multiplayer, provided you have the free Retaliation dlc installed, though they are ultra-rares: the Volus Engineer and the Volus Adept. So yes, you can be a chubby Biotic God.

I dunno. I like her. I think she's pretty. I think they kept the turian look and gave her more feminine, softer features. It's also similar to what turian girls looked like in the comic book.

They were going to have female Turians in the first game, it just came down to production cost. It's a shame though, they're pretty...pretty.

There's been female Turians in the comics for a while, so it's not a complete shocker, but I'm still impressed.

Now we just need in game models for unmasked Quarians and I think we'v seen everything in-game.
Have we seen suit-less Volus yet? Always wondered what those little roly-poly guys look like under their suits.
That would be difficult, since Volus have to wear those suits. A nitrogen/oxygen atmosphere is poisonous to them, and the pressure most species exist in would cause a Volus' skin to split open.

That's not a really hard problem to solve. There is after all one place where the Volus are guaranteed to not need suits: their own homeworld.

ME3 took us to the homeworlds of all the major species in the series, so maybe ME4 or some kind of spin-off could take us on a visit to the minor races. There is still a lot of universe to discover. Like the Hanar homeworld. The Batarians, maybe post-Reapers. The Vorcha planet (imagine hell, then add Vorcha). To the Elcor homeworld, so we can finally see those 'walking tanks'. It was kinda disappointing that their side quest was little more than "scan planet, return for reward".
