It looks amazing. Especially on the tv when downloaded from PSN. I love you 1080p resolution.
As for the trailer itself, it looks great.

I did that. It was still to slow.

I already said it and I will say it again: Square throw the bar away. Give us action points (or something like that). Give us a battle system where we can do everything at any time if we have enough points.

-Don't like gambits? Turn them off. Here's how: in battle, push the analog stick in a downwards direction, twice. Then press "X". The large golden "G" beside gambits should now be faint and gray. Congratulations, you have successfully turned off gambits.
I turned them off. Also I never said that they are a bad thing. Sure I've never used them but they are helpful if you want to gain 10 lvls over night without actually playing the game (yes that is possible).

The thing I didn't liked about them is that you have to buy them which in my opinion doesn't make any sense.

Edit: I messed up the quotes.

It kind of looks bad. I cant put my finger on it but it does not look much fun and Lightning reminds me of Ashe which is not a good thing for me.

If this battle system is sort of like FF X-2 (fast paces ATB) it will be good but it looked a bit too like FFXII. This is good for some people but does not have the same affect on me as the final fantsy turn based systems of the past.

I think this would be an awesome battle system myself, action points recharge once used, but you can spend them at any time.

The only thing I liked about Gambits was that they took away the tedium of entering "attack, heal, attack, heal." over and over again, but that isn't the best solution. Battles should be exciting and dynamic like the ones in Grandia 3, The Shadow Hearts games or Paper Mario 1 and 2.

I must admit that the trailer has me a little worried.
SquareEnix seems to be pushing for this all encompassing actionRPG which is fine, except it kind of butchers the franchise as a whole.
I was frustrated at the FFXII combat, admittedly I was more gutted at the miserable political theme of the plot.

FINALLY some god damn GAMEPLAY from this game!
I am as ecstatic as you are. Final Fantasy has been notorious for dumping loads of beautiful cinematic but showing little or no gameplay.

I think I'll listen to the buzz before deciding to pick this game up. Hopefully FF can break out of its cliche plot and do something to impress me.

As I just pointed out the last two times they tried to break convention (FFX-2, FFXII) people hated them for it. Frankly I think they won't be taking any major risks for awhile.

I dont think getting you to care is what they are trying to do. They are just informing you of the rules. If you dont care, just realize you are probably going to get reported.

Oh, and no, you dont make the game look bad by using poor grammar and spelling. You make the people who like the game look bad.

Final Fantasy VII certainly didn't look very "Final Fantasy-ish" and look what happened there.

This looks visually & thematically amazing but the combat system is clearly going to be atrocious.
Second.

I like the visual style, It gives a good contrast to the last game, but the combat looks to be a little dodgy.
Lmao, so because of me, you look down upon those who like the game? Thats just as bad. I really dont care for the game. I didnt know i had such a large influence on people.
As they say, a society can be defined by the people in it. We are a society of gamers, and when the ones who like a particular game act stupid it reflects poorly upon the others who like that game. Kind of like the Halo situation. Some Halo players are frothing at the mouth trying to get their next kill (or are screamers or numerous other things). So it is only natural for us to make that assumption of the rest of their community. That is what you do to those in the community who like FFXII

Also, no I dont look down upon those who like the game, that would insinuate that I am not one of those people. Instead, you make me feel stupid for liking the same game(s) you do. I'm not saying you have poor taste, but when you type and organize your thoughts in that way its hard to tell otherwise.
...that is a horrible form of judgment. And the way I type and organize my thoughts, in now way, reflect my intelligence. I'm just lazy dude.

It may be true that you are simply lazy, but when you are communicating on the internet you are talking to people who don't know you. We don't know that you are not an idiot. So when you type like one what are we supposed to think?

P.S. It may be a horrible form of judgment, but it is one of the most natural and common. It is the kind of judgment you pass on things and people without knowing you've done it.

So you're saying that being totally ignorant is ok because other people do it? You can't just judge someone based off of their first post. You have to give them the benefit of the doubt and be fair with them. Give them some time so that you can get the nessecary information to accuratly judge them.

I dont even know why people are pissed at him in the first place. Using "ur" is totally understandable text; it's not like he was using leetspeak. I guess it just goes to show that there are people out there who will take any information, no matter how irrelevant (seriously, it doesn't matter if Obama's middle name is "Hussein" or not), and try to imply that someone is wrong about everything because of it.

Edit: well, there goes my notable poster...(or whatever comes next)

I gave him the benefit of the doubt for quite some time and then chimed in around the point that he said he didn't care about the Escapist/the rules. I simply informed him of how he makes himself and those who share his ideas look (myself included). Also, I never said that this form of judgment is right, it is simply natural. I was giving him an outside perspective. They will belittle what he says and look down upon his opinions and those who share them because of the way he stated them. If you look at my previous post you will see that I agreed it is a horrible form of judgment, but it is natural and common.

A lot of those people who complain to him come to the Escapist to escape(ha) the odd language that litters the rest of the internet. It is also simply against the rules.

Also, I have not looked down upon his opinion of FFXII. Though I'm sure some have due to his writing.

P.S. I wouldn't worry about your notable poster(or whatever it is), you haven't done anything wrong.

It doesn't matter if it's natural or not! Didn't you read it?! You admitted to basing your judgment off of his simplified wording (bolded above). That's not the benefit of the doubt, that's just being an ass. Even if you claim to be posting from an outside perspective, you are still taking your "natural" form of judgement and not even attempting to do things the right way. You say that this is how everyone does it and therefore it is ok, if you didn't think it was ok then you would either be taking my stance or your just too lazy to make good judgements.

Regarding the rules: you're taking things way too seriously. As I said, his language was no where near excessive. He isn't supporting 4chan just because he uses texting abbreviations. So you should stop blindly upholding rules just because it's written and get off your lazy ass and decide for yourself whether or not it's justified!

Have you read every page of this thread? Did you see his previous posts? He was using that language far before I stepped in and, compared to how the other escapists treated him, I am being downright courteous by having an actual conversation with him to discuss the situation than simply calling him and idiot or using sarcasm designed to make him look like one. While were at it, did you notice when I stepped in? About the point when he posted, "The Escapist is not that big a part of my life. i still dont care." That is blatant disregard for the rules and in many ways disrespectful. I had given him time to simply change the way he typed and then let it be, I gave him the benefit of the doubt for a time. However, he had to take that extra step and disrespect those who run and own the forum he is posting on.

Another thing, I don?t think you understood what I was saying with that quote. I was addressing him in a way to help him understand how other people saw him, given the way he types. That quote was also well into our argument. I cannot be expected to continually give him the benefit of the doubt.

"Regarding the rules" response:
- I was not taking things too seriously, I was taking it to a reasonable boundary that has empirical support and he continued to push it.
- I never said he is supporting 4chan, though if he wants to use proper English to support that site I wont stop him.
- So I should decide whither the rules set down by the people who own this site are worth upholding? I should assume they didn't think it through enough? I have no right to do that, it is their website, their rules and I will respect the rules they set. If anyone does not like the rules they have set they are invited to leave.
- I'm not lazy; if I were lazy I wouldn't be taking the time to argue with you.

A final question, he already admitted that he was just lazy and that?s how it was going to be, we came to a conclusion. So, what exactly are you trying to do by picking a fight with me? What are you trying to defend?

P.S. I get the odd feeling I wont get through to you. Which could be do to some form of judgment you've passed on my character, kind of like assuming I'm lazy (Hypocrisy?). So this will be my last post on this thread. I feel we have hijacked it for long enough. If you still feel the need to carry on with this argument, private message me.

P.P.S. If it is of any interest, I never reported Lil_Hank.

...yes, because my spelling determines the games credibility. No wonder we have so many judgmental and racist ppl out there. Did u seriously look at my post and say, "His spelling is horrendous! Final Fantasy XII is definitely a horrible game!" ???
If that were the case then I would have gladly spelled everything perfectly but id rather not waste my time seeing as most ppl(at least should) judge a game on how ...i dont know....good it actually is? >.>
Your spelling speaks to YOUR credibility, and that line shows that you have no concept of what racism actually is (and that fact we have no idea what "race" you actually are.)
