Well, um, it was Legend of Zelda OoT.... Look, I was young and the zombies looked creepy. Don't look at me like that.

Another thing that scared me, though it wasn't exactly a game anymore, was this weird Mario doll. It was kind of big--or at least looked big when I was little, but that thing had no hat... and it would just look at me..

The first game I played that scared me was Halo, but before that, watching people play Abe's Oddysee and Exodus scared me a bit (I was 5, Fleeches... blech...)

this [http://www.winterrowd.com/maze/] It's a flash game off the internet, but it is really scary.
Shit that scared me shitless. Damn you! XD
Told you.
Like hell I'm clicking on that link before someone tells me what it is. :p
I think it's one of those affairs where it tricks you into concentrating really hard, then it pops up a scary face and screams.
I fucking hate those.

Also, Abe was awesome. Do not lie.

At least I'm not the only person to say Legend of Zelda: OoT...
I did good until Link turned older, then I was just scared of those damn zombies.. I never finished that game.
You are absolutely not alone. That is exactly what happened to me.
Got it in one! For anyone who doesn't know it's called the Scary Maze Game [http://www.winterrowd.com/maze/] and it's a very popular prank on the internet. There are lots of videos on Youtube if you want to see them. [http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=&search_query=scary+maze+game&aq=2&oq=Scary]

On a more serious note, I would also have to put LoZ OoT as a really scary game. The shadow dungeon terrified me to the point where I had to get a mate of mine to finish the dungeon for me.

Apart from the OoT zombie things. There was this bit in Jade Empire where these ghost appear as enemies and everytime they spawn they let out a shriek, i could never prepare my self for it (even when i learnt where they spawned) and it would always make me jump

I can't remember the name, but it was some kind of PG doom clone where you fought green slime monsters and wore what basically amounted to a brown mailbox as body armor.

Zelda OoT! It seems extremely stupid now but the Shadow Temple scared the absolute shit out of me when i was younger!
Oh man, the Skulltulas, Gohma babies, and Queen Gohma scared me enough that I didn't want to play it for awhile. Same for the ReDeads and Wallmasters.

Wolfenstein 3D.
This,
followed by Doom
followed by Aliens vs Predator (!!!)
followed by FEAR

What made AvP stand head and shoulders above others in pure panicky terror:

In many areas, aliens would spawn randomly, so you would always die unless you got out of the area fast enough. And of course there was no explicit indication of entering or exiting those areas. The implications are many-fold. Too careful inching forward risked getting stuck in a spawning area for too long, and getting overrun. Neither could you learn the incoming enemies entirely by heart. This promoted a wonderful terror-filled, urgent athmosphere where even the clock is your enemy. Kind of like having Nightmare mode as the default.

There was no mid-level save. Yes, failing to hear the chattering noise of a facehugger and insta-dying six minutes into a seven-minute level meant having to start all the way from the beginning. The feeling of dread just got worse and worse the deeper you got into the level, because you stood to actually lose something (your progress).

You had to constantly alternate between the night vision and flares or die. The NV's graininess, and lack of motion tracking while in NV mode, made it hard to spot aliens far enough. With flares, you saw accurately, but had to throw a flare everywhere you might *potentially* need to see. Except, only a few would burn at any one time, so you'd often have unnerving gaps in your vision. Thus, NV tended to be better for navigating and rapid assault, except when there was a decent amount of environmental light which would flood the NV to near useless state. Flares and motion tracker would be better for careful advance and for fighting in small areas.

Here's Level 2, albeit in bad image quality. Should you choose to check it out, crank volume up, fullscreen, dark room, you know the drill.

AHHHH GO **** YOURSELF! >.<

In other news:
Probably the water levels of Mario 64. Then came the spiders in OoT (I never really though redead were scary... maybe because they don't really ever hurt you, and they look as skinny as me! :D)

This is going to sound stupid, but in the first level of the original Tomb Raider, I was terrified of going down the passage with the bats.
