Independent of the quality of the game, which sane reviewer would give it a bad review?
Though halo always had and still has the best melee mechanic ever :) though i prefer the pc version of those where it exists.
But if a reviewer gave odst a high rating he lost all credibility.

I don't know if I am a fan of Halo or not. On one hand, yeah, it's great fun, but on the other hand, it feels like the "bread and butter" of video games. I don't know why I find it enjoyable, but I do.

Hopefully this game will be good, I will probably borrow it from someone first.

I just hope this isn't like Modern Warfare 2 where it got great review scores because of the hype and then it turned out to be less than stellar. Whenever you see 100's its because of hype, and I see a lot of 100's on the board.

Perfect reviews, every single one of my friends is getting it...
And I'd still rather save my money and get Plants vs. Zombies.

This happens over and over again, first with ODST, then Red Dead Redemption and now probably this.
Everyone buys it, the critics love it, I buy it and get disappointed once again.

As soon as I see there's an option to run around with a traffic cone on your head, I may reconsider. Until then, I'm ignoring it.

I thought that I would never but another Halo game cause the 3rd one just bugged me to no end in the plot being just messed up to the 12 year olds on xbox live screaming into my ear.

But this game looks to have at least solved the single player problem and that alone might force me to break my own rule and buy Reach.

You have to SAVE money for PvZ? It's like 10 bucks dude.....Oh, and while you can't have a traffic cone on your head, you can unlock the option of A FLAMING HEAD!!!!!

OT: I'm super psyched, it looks like the best game ever. To those of you who say it shouldnt be given perfect scores because all it doesn't "revolutionize Halo", uh, who cares? It's going to be fucking awesome, who cares that it doesn't change everything. The armor abilities will shake things up so much. It's funny, you don't realize just how much halo needs armor abilities until you hear about them. Oh, and forge world looks like THE COOLEST. FUCKING. THING. EVER.

I spent all me money on books for this semester, and I will be spending all my spare time reading those books..

So.. the little time I get for myself will go towards playing SC2 and the amazingly fun Steam game "Alien Swarm"

I can't wait for the uber-hype machine to kick into overdrive.

10/10s! Record breaking!

Aaaand....it'll all be for a game of a genre that is thoroughly stagnant.
I for one, am planning on ignoring it as best I can; if only to preserve my sanity.
The way the Squad is it seems like it might be kind of like Republic Commando where you NEED certain people from your squad for certain things. God damn it I really want a Republic Commando 2 now.

I meant I could get PvZ and still have money left, instead of blowing it all on Reach.
And a flaming head just seems impractical. Y'know, because a traffic cone on your head has so many uses.

Those reviews are surprisingly good.

I still really don't want to buy it though.
Given the campaign is still only 5 hours long? Pitiful.
'The fuck you been looking at mate?

All across the board, people have said it's much longer than ODST. Most of em saying it's 8-10 hours long, which is average nowadays.

I know I'll be replaying the campaign over and over by myself, plus co-op campaign adds so many more replays.

And then there's all the multi-player.

And forge world.

DAMNIT I WANT IT NOW!!!

Totally excited. And never really cared about reviews for Halo really. I enjoy the games, and I love Bungie, so I'm good no matter what.

I'm going to the midnight release, but I have to work it >.<

Ah well, when I get on in the morning most of my friends will be sleeping, meaning I can go through the campaign with minimal interruptions :)

Also Miracle, you better play with Megan and I! We missed you in the beta! Or at least I did...
Weee! But I won't have it at midnight. I'll be getting it first thing Tuesday morning.

I haven't done a midnight release in years. I am weak! I can't stay up that late anymore. And I haven't been blessed/cursed with insomnia, so even if I did go out and get it, I would promptly fall asleep once I got home.

The countdown on XBL is only making me feel more anxious, and then you go and send out those daily videos from the user group!

I'm pretty excited about it. Looking forward to clearing the Legendary campaign with some friends, though from what I hear, the difficulty now scales according to how many players are running through, so technically, going through the campaign on Legendary with 4 players is the true hardest difficulty setting. Also heard they're offering two different sets of completion achievements this time around, one for going it alone and another for doing co-op.

I'm jazzed that there's a sprint button now, too.

One of the seniors in the high school I go to is staying out of school on tuesday to get it. And get this. He has his parent's consent because he got good grades.
I did for Street Fighter IV back in '09. It's not as uncommon as you might think.

Yep. I'm evil like that. Making the wait worse for everyone else helps me cope :D
