OT: Long hair, really? And pimppeter, I don't want to start an argument, but we aren't saying that they shouldn't go by school rules, we're simply saying it's a retarded rule and shouldn't exist. Either way, this is yet another reason why public school owns.
It is a public school. At least I think, and that's what this thread has been going on for a while.
I know, I meant that homeschool doesn't have any dress code BS and is much better in general.

Number 2, home school does NOT solve the problem. If anything, this will make him feel even MORE isolated and freakish and self concious.
That's a blatant lie, I've been homeschooled since 2nd grade and I've been more confident than I ever was when I was sitting in one of 200 copy-pasted rooms for six hours with 20 other kids whom the majority of I never even spoke to.
Okay, this is going to be a long one. *Sighs*
@gof22: This does not solve the problem. This will cause the child to become more distressed and think that this entire situation has arisen because of his hair, or more directly, himself.
@Trist66: Long hair isn't necessarily greasy. And you can't base your opinions on what you see celebrities do, they are generally messed up people. That's what makes them great celebrities. I myself have mildly long hair, and it is never greasy. I shampoo every morning when I take a shower, it's never in my eyes as I keep it well trimmed. Your arguments are invalid, sorry. Oh, and about the whole "thinking alike = dressing alike" thing - it's entirely connected. Not necessarily a 1 to 1 ratio, but, they go hand in hand.
@Monicro1: That is entirely different for you. I mean that the child in question will feel more isolated and self concious because he will belive that this entire thing is because of him. The school made sure of that when they put him in ISR and such.
