Do you even proofread what you write? Everything you just wrote there amounted to the following:
-Your a massive troll
-You want to stifle invention and creativity
-You are afraid of change

People like you do not deserve the rights you are given. I can't belive that I've wasted over 1 hour debating this topic with someone as hopelessly lost as you. Every one of your comments here is Report-worthy, and I implore everyone to do so on this Trish character.
Way to back up your arguments there, bucko. I stifle creativity? I am sorry, but I do not think being too lazy to cut my hair and letting it grow is "creative". Jesus had long hair pal, and people before him had long hair. You know why? Because they lived in a fucking dessert near the equator. They didn't have sunscreen either. Do you think they wanted to have to clean it and care for it everyday? And I don't think that every person with long hair invented the look.

How am I afraid of change? Because I think long hair is gross and useless? I can see how you get afraid of change from that.

Everything I have heard you say so far has lead me to conclude the following:
- You enjoy metal.
- You think that having long hair makes you different.
- You are a baby who cannot handle other people having different oppinions.
- You know in the back of your head that long hair is gay, so you are offended by every single thing i say because you do not want to face that facts that it isn't cool or edgy.
Do I need to really explain this in depth for you?

Okay. Listen, because I do not plan on repeating myself. You have a tendancy to stifle creative flow from what you are saying, because not only do you have a need to force your opinions on others, over the internet no less, but also that you think you have the right to call out anyone with longer hair and tell them that they are wrong, and they they are dirty and greasy. Not just that, but you said that we should only use what we already have, because it works. This is entirely untrue in many a case. Invention requires creativity and change, things you apparently have strong apprehension to. Just because something works doesn't mean it can't be improved upon. That is called innovation, the step-brother of invention. Without it, we would not be communicating at all right now, as the computer and the internet would have never existed.

As well, your psycological profile of me is utterly wrong. I do enjoy a bit of metal from time to time, and it's always good to get the Led out, but it is not my favorite. Long hair does NOT make me different. In fact, where I live, long hair is quite common. Before you say I live in "Hippyland" or something of equally undesireable taste, I live in Washington DC. And I'm the baby who can't handle other opinions? You're the one who is trying to tell everyone that if they have long hair they are gay and immoral and wrong. As well, short hair is the prefered hairstyle of gay men. Try again. Also, I do not try to be "edgy" or "cool". I don't need to be. I'm confident with myself enough that I don't need to act out like that. If I act out, I do it for reasons of virtue and principal, things you wouldn't know of in the least, I am sure.

I do apologize about the wall of text people. This guy just needs a good verbal whipping, if you know what I mean.

"You are a baby who cannot handle other people having different oppinions."
At what point did any of us directly assault your life style? none of us said having short hair makes you any lesser of a being. We in fact never said anything about how you live your life other than the way you show your disgust by spewing hate everywhere.

"You know in the back of your head that long hair is gay, so you are offended by every single thing i say because you do not want to face that facts that it isn't cool or edgy."
I don't think I need to talk about most of this quote but I need to address the "offended by every single thing" part. The reason I am offended by your statements is because the discrimination you seem to perceive as normal. I don't know where you learned that every little thing you don't like is seen as filthy greasy and unwanted by the public. Think about how other people will feel about what you say and how you would react in the same situation instead of just immediately hating anything that does not conform to your specific definition of beauty. Have you never tried to think what its like to be a different person without a biased outlook?

I also apologize for letting this conversation get out of hand this will be my final post on this thread sorry about the spam.

His hair is a 'distraction'? Ze WTF? How is long hair distracting? To me, a t-shirt with text on it would make for a more effective distraction. It's not like his hair has lamps braided into it. Following rules and whatever, yeah, yeah, but why would there ever be a need for such a stupid rule? I've honestly never heard anything as weird. If it gets greasy, wash it. It's not like short hair comes with immunity against greasiness.
Long hair = distracting (to who, by the way), cut it or receive ban from life.
Do as we say because we say it.

I'm opposed to any sort of controlling dress code (excluding what would be considered "Indecent Exposure")simply because the "distracting" defense is pure BULLSHIT!

Just because the child has long hair does not mean that it is going to distract any of the other children from doing their work, if anything the other children would probably try to use it as an excuse instead of admitting that they weren't paying attention. I'm also pretty sure that the other children don't give a fuck how long someone's hair is...so I'm pretty sure that the adults involved (the ones that really hold the power in the situation, so not the parents) are just being bastards that are on a power trip. The education system's job is to educate our children, not control them into comfortably conforming to a society that can't let anyone truly express themselves without there being some sort of anonymity involved (thank you internet for giving spineless, gutless, moronic bastards a voice). Who really gives a fuck if someone has long hair or short hair, they are there to LEARN.

The people that have said "if someone had 2 foot liberty spikes that were neon pink or green, I could see there being something wrong with that." I have to ask why? You may reply "Well at least that really would be distracting." Oh really? I would like for you to think about something for a moment, think about going to school or working a 9-5 job Monday-Friday and one of your classmates/coworkers has any sort of "distracting" hair style and any unnatural hair color combo...Are you really thinking about it? Now use a bit of logic and really think about this, at first it may seem different or distracting to you, but the person didn't change only the outward appearance...and after about a week or so of the "shock" of this "distracting" new look that they have...most if not all of the shock and distraction will gradually go away because you will get used to seeing it or stop caring because you suddenly realize that it doesn't matter what others choose to look like or how they choose to dress...either that or you finally decided that what you are working on is more important than some petty bullshit issue like this.

Clearly he is being raised by hippies.

Seriously though, how are people getting distracted by hair? Hair? Really? I mean, sure they have to conform to the rules, but this rule doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

Another thing, are you ever going to try to prove me wrong that short hair isn't better? Short hair is easier to keep nice, shows a level of responsibility, and does not impede you in any way. Long hair, however, takes much longer to keep nice, wasting time on something as trivial as looks when it could be used on something like "inventing." Anyone over the age of 28 that has a respectable job will call it immature. You cannot give me one way long hair is better.

-Snip-
Have you asked everyone with a respectable job over the age of 28 for their opinion on the matter? Also, running through the hair with water and shampoo on a daily basis is regularly enough to keep it un-greasy. I should know, as I have hair down to the top of my shoulder blades, and that works perfectly well. A lot if not most of my classmates with short hair use hair gel, which makes their hair look significantly greasier than mine.
Also, what exactly would be your definition of a respectable job, one with a high salary?

I agree. Just because something works doesn't mean it shouldn't be improved on. Remember how Jesus had long hair? That worked at the time. We innovated with our advanced, future-techno minds that long hair is unnecessary and impractical, and without the need for it, we advanced our long hair technology into short hair. How you constantly gather that I am against change and change and invention is beyond me.

Another thing, are you ever going to try to prove me wrong that short hair isn't better? Short hair is easier to keep nice, shows a level of responsibility, and does not impede you in any way. If what I am saying is stifling your "creative flow" or whatever, then you are not creative at all. Creative people do not let other people's opinions effect what they believe in unless the other opinion is sensible. They try to make their opinions known to others so that other people can see their point of view, whether they agree with it or not.

Also:
1. Claim not to be gay
2. Say you will whip me
3. say provocatively "if you know what i mean"
4. ???
5. profit
Please. DEAR GOD. READ. CAN YOU READ AT ALL?

You are contradicting earlier statements saying you agree that innovation is good. You said it was bad, and that anything that already exists is as good as it gets.

As to your second statement, are YOU ever going to prove to me that SHORT hair IS better? There is nothing wrong with long hair, there never has been, just as there is nothing wrong with short hair or baldness, for that matter. It doesn't really show you are respectable or anything, that comes entirely from your stance and attitude.

You also call looks "trivial", when earlier you said that looks were everything, and that long hair was unfit for society.

You aren't stifiling my creative flow at all. My point flew right over your head, as I'm sure a lot of things do. The whole thing about creativity and invention is that stifiling one's right to self image can lead to the underdevelopment of imagination, a key ingrediant in invention.

You are constantly telling people here that everything they belive about hair is wrong, and that they shouldn't like it. So don't even try pulling that shit.

And that list doesn't even make sense. I get the meme, but the real bits don't make much sense. I am not gay, thank you. And the other two are refering to an earler statement that was entirely fecitious.

Now, dear God, read this fully. Read it over carefully about 4 times, then respond. Just so you can give a remotely interesting rebuttal.

At my school if it's ridiculously long then they'll tell you to cut it. But as long as you can see they are okay. Also, they more seem to care if it's messy (coming from a school on the coast, there's a lot of this). If you have a lot of hair but take care of it they're more lenient.
