I think Frostbite is reasonably versatile.

I think I've even heard that they were considering it for a golf game (it simulates foliage and trees very well, water looks nice, and you could use missile physics for tracking the ball), but that was probably speculation.
Anyway, it is not inconceivable that EA may want to move more games to Frostbite, which is developed in-house at DICE, rather than licensing Unreal. I guess it would be a cost-cutting decision for them, wouldn't it?
