The Black Throne on Darksiders was an 'Oh fuck this' moment for me, until a few days later I realised that the puzzles only looked difficult and were actually rather easy.

The most recent example in my mind would be during Final Fantasy 13, while playing as Lightning and Hope, up against the Aster Protoflorian, or as I like the call it "the mother fucker that looks like a giant bulbasaur".

It stomped me the first battle, tried a again, did better, died, tried again, did a little better, died, "Fuck this!", ragequit.

Tried a couple hours later, did a little better than before, died, tried again, did a little better, died, 'Fuck this!", ragequit.

DELICIOUS COPYPASTA YOU MUST TASTE IT

Tried a couple hours later, did a little better than before, died, tried again, did a little better, died, "Fuck this!", ragequit.

I beat him my next try a couple hours later, but there was a lot of "Fuck this!" that day.
If you struggle with that creature, you're in for a world of hurt in the future, mines a FFXIII moment, second fight with Barthaladeus, got the **** to just 1000 hp left, and my doom counter goes to 0. FUCK THAT! I roared at the TV. I was not too keen on doing that half an hour long battle again. I did attempt it again, beating him with 400 on the clock, but I still hate that beast so much, and thank fuck summoning Edolens freezes the doom timer.
I have no idea why I couldn't beat him at the time. Everything up until that point had been a friggin breeze.

Random grenades, spawn killings, quick scoping, and this one time when I was at cadet camp and a Private kept kicking my ass at "Heroes of the Pacific".

Modern Warfare 2's online multiplayer. It used to be good but now, DAMN THOSE CAMPERS!!! Seriously, you can't get through one single game without having six different campers(I'm not even counting the snipers). Also, the spawning in that game makes me want stab something, with a CHAINSAW! In one game, I literally spawned RIGHT IN FRONT OF A FUCKING ENEMY WITH MY BACK TURNED TO HIM! And this happened, FIVE TIMES IN A ROW!!!
FUCK THIS GAME, I'M GOING TO GO AND CHOP OFF MY LEG!!!

Anyone who played Overlord II on pc will fondly remember controlling their Greens on spider mounts on the walls of that elevator shaft, in a horribly frustrating timed sequence that you have to start all over again whenever you're too slow.

Sometimes, a mouse is not a good substitute for an analog stick ...

I am pretty mellow, but Okami got the best of me with its fucking wall demons. For you who have never played, the wall demon cock blocks your path to future plot hooks until you, with your celestial painbrush, dot ink on his weak spots which he shows you for a microsecond. If you are not precise with it, you have to do it again. And agian. And agian....times 10...and agian. It made me stop playing the game for a week my first time through.

Most recently in Mass Effect (okay, so I'm late to the party) there was an enemy that shot a red laser, instant killing me the first 5 times I tried it. Ended up just running far enough that I could snipe all the enemies...

Just now, in Mass Effect. I was facing a Thresher Maw, when it disappeared under the ground and reappeared- Right under me. Insta-kill.

I have a fair few moments -

-Played Vampire Rain for about five minuites. I'm lucky I even made it that far.

-The first mission playing as the Empire faction in Perimeter. Trying to get econ up. Computer attacks in first 30 seconds of game time. Also very easy to run out of energy very, very quickly. Shame really, because that game had some good ideas - the Perimeter Field just wasn't one of those.

-Armoured Core For Answer. Veterans will know the mission I'm on about. Let's just say there's a mission where you have to fight FOUR bosses at the exact same time.

-Blood Bowl. The game hates you!

-I'm close to this with FEAR (the first one) at the minuite. Possibly one of the most overhyped games I've played so far. It's not even scary - and I'm someone with a weak heart condition!

-Portal. Another very overhyped game, where the only decent thing to come of it is the credits tune. The people who solve this game in two hours or so must be related to the same people who can solve a Rubic's Cube in seven minuites.

There are many of these moments, but the best would be with Guild Wars. Every. Damn. Day.
There are so many problems with that game but there's not much else for me to do here.

Quicktime moments. Not a bad idea in Resi 4, bad in most other games, and possibly the single most psychosis-inducing part of Mercenaries 2.
I liked them in God Of War, because they were usually not mandatory, and they let you do some really epic stuff in boss fights, which are on a huge scale on God Of War.
Hmmm. Usually stuff like that just makes me more determined to beat the game. So nothing really comes to mind. Recently I complete Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers. The last level took ages because I'm defending a door, and it took about four playthroughs before I even heard Gimli yell out to take out the archers on the walls. This is about the halfway point, and it's difficult to hear him while I'm surrounded by orcs frantically slashing, pulling off combos and blocking. After that, I had to kill berserker things, and then two trolls. So even after I figured that out I failed a few times. The worst part. When you finally win, they break down the fucking gate anyway!

Modern Warfare 2 Veteran Mode. I peek my head out for more than 2 seconds, BAM I die.
If you think that's bad try COD4 on Veteran. MW2 is a breeze in comparison.
Agreed. i have a few. CoD4 Mile High Club on Veteran. Jeezus Christ i tried for like 5 hours. *shudder* then did it at my friends on my 2nd go the next day.... CoD4, i cant remember the name but the mission after u snipe zakheav and have to gap it back to the ferris wheel 4 extraction. sooooo many guys all pointing there insta-death guns at u. CoDWaW last mission as the russians (on veteran).... spawning and having 4 greandes thrown at u.... MW2 vetran was pretty easy by comparision. also mass effect 2 on insanity.. the end of recruit the krogran... a heavy mech, respawning krogans and a heavy boss chick with a missle launcher. dammit.

All right, I'm going old school.

Castlevania 1: The fucking medusa heads. Jesus christ. Is it meant to be that hard?

That's all the old school complaints I got. Now some newer ones.

Does anyone else hate when you quit a game lobby in MW2 and try for another one where everyone isn't noobknifing? And then it drops you into the same lobby.

So you exit again, try for another one, get put back in the same lobby?

Then it happens again!

Then again!!!

Jesus christ!!! Does the game not recognize that I don't want to play with that bunch of cunts?

Most recently, the Elevator Titan fight in Batman Arkham Asylum. A tiny little room, a titan and more enemies than I can run around and fight. Died like 40 times before I beat it. I think what got me really angry was that the rest of the game was so good and that was the first time I wasn't having fun.
