Prince of Persia The Two Thrones. The final cutscene may have wrapped up the three games into a nice package, but the final boss along with the stage afterwards were incredibly disappointing. Half the Boss fight was platforming as is.
How else do you make a decent PoP boss? The combat system wasn't good enough to get a real, epic boss fight without platforming.
Warrior Within had some great boss fights. Also, the earlier bosses within T2T were much more challenging, especially the warrior twins. The final boss was simply unsatisfying with all the build up and the stage afterward, much more so. I get why they didn't have me fight the Dark Prince, but what could be a greater fight than fighting yourself?

Meh, matter of opinion, I felt that the earlier boss fights were formulaic and boring. Attack, block, dodge, attack, block, dodge...

Worst ending?
XIII on the PC "To be continued. . . " never was as far as I know

another runner up for those are the Soul Reaver and Blood Omen 2's both just seem to throw in a huge slice of WTF cake.

And then of course you had defiance which kind of ended on a To be continued which never got finished.

can't think of any others at the moment

Gears 2 was a real slap in the face for me, i got really hooked on Gears 1, (maybe i was stupid or something) so Gears 2 really let me down overall.

Most other games i just couldn't get into enough to care, like Borderlands sure the ending was horrible but i didn't give half a shit just because i thought that game was good from just a pure gameplay standpoint.

I despised Modern Warfare 2's ending. When the credits came up, I literally shouted out "Are you fucking kidding me?!?", because I wasn't expecting another Halo 2 ending. Also, are we really supposed to believe: Soap will survive that stab wound? Really? I mean he was stabbed in the stomach, I'm not sure that just closing it up would help the damaged internal organs. Actually, that whole ending sequence made almost no sense, a general of the US Army sets up his own mercenary army and runs off with them, and NOBODY notices? I mean, the first game was kinda unrealistic, but it pretended it was real, and didn't go to too ridiculous bounds. The second, felt like a damn James Bond movie, what with the snowmobiles and huge cliff jumps.

thats not the point dude, they weren't aiming for realism. The MW2 was the greatest ending ever and left it wide open for a 3rd installment

I so rarely finish a game that I can't think of anything else than Titan Quest, and that ending was good enough for me.

Sonic and the Black Knight, without a doubt. I still have no idea what the hell the moral was supposed to be. That there's no point in living without death? I guess? WHAT IS THIS DOING IN A SONIC GAME!?

The new Prince of Persia was a pretty bad 'you gotta be kidding me' ending.

Even with the DLC epilogue... eh.
I thought it was pretty good. I mean, there has never been any game I have ever played that ended on a sad note. It caught me totally by surprise. I loved it.
:)
It's not really sad though, not if you play it out to the end credits. It just kinda... undoes all the work you did the entire rest of the game.

Bioshock

I can't see how people thought Bioshock was a bad ending!
The boss fight was pretty damn epic for what I was expecting (I was anticipating a shotgun match with you-know-who just like any other FPS would do, but no, SUPER TITAN GRAWR!) As for the actual ending sequences I'll warn for spoilers but:
The evil ending wasn't that good- going surface side with splicer powers and killing things, no big surprise. The good ending though I really enjoyed. Havin saved the little girls you see a selection of scenes from their new lives out of Rapture, youth and a wedding, and finally together at their adopted fathers bedside [the protagonist, if you hadn't guessed]
How many FPS's end with the main character becoming a beloved father figure? None. That is why Bioshocks ending was freaking awesome.

Borderlands, holy shit, Borderlands. Great game, massive build-up to the Vault, and then...
...yeah. That was it. The "Vault" doesn't even exist. You can't get any loot. And in fact, the portal will open again in another 200 years. YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING TO STOP THE WORLD-DESTROYING MONSTER. But hey, there's an extra quest to return the key - maybe you'll get something nice out of it? But you don't. You get money, because for some reason the game thinks having your wallet maxed out at nine digits means you're broke. Fuck you, Gearbox. Fuck you.

I was so heartbroken by that ending I simply gave up on the game. There weren't any more quests, just a bunch of respawning assholes that I could shoot. I tried playing Lilith, then Brick, and then I realised my adventures meant nothing and there was no point trying to reach that same unsatisfying conclusion. Bah.
