OOOHHHH. Nevermind.

OT:White Knight Chronicals, GTA4 and show her the idea a guilt free trip around. (Seriously, there's a walkthrough for that.)
Kingdom Hearts, for any of the systems. They are all good.

They've released Katamari Damacy games for the PS3 now, right? There is also Noby Noby Boy, which is less of a game and more of a cute "toy" and should be a fun (if brief) distraction.

get her a wii, or yourself one.. it's more child friendly, and you'll get alot of fun out of it. As you've probably noticed, a good bunch of suggestion goes directly to the wii console.

As for games on ps3, note that little big planet has been a game which has taken the feminine part of gaming with storm, and you shouldn't be surprised if she lacks interest for other games. I don't have many suggestions, other than already stated by other people, but theese are things better tested by your GF than random people on the internet anyway. Singstar and such seems to appeale to women.. And if she doesn't like it, you can always play it with your friends before you hit the pub!

You're going for the artsy value?
JRPGs are usually good for that, if sometimes cliche.
Okami has incredible art.
And maybe I'm just still in the honeymoon stage of this game after four months, but Assassin's Creed II is beautiful, and the story is beautiful. I have the concept art book and bought the cheap novelization. Because it's beautiful to me.
Problem is you need to play ACI first to get a lot of it, but ACI wasn't quite as good and for someone who doesn't like stabbing it's probably not going to pull through on it's (kinda a little bit beautiful) brown environments and (kinda a tad beautiful, though boring as hell) story.

I would suggest Chime, but you have a PS3 and not an Xbox 360. Hmm.

You could take a huge leap, and try playing mass effect 2 with her, or something. She can do all the dialogue parts, and you can do all the shooting parts. It would be like playing the game together.

Snooty Englishman also brought up Portal, which is a good one too.

I guess I would go for more indie titles, or the Beatles Rock Band.

Hey guys! My girlfriend recently got into gaming. She's been playing Little Big Planet and games from PSN Store on her brother's PS3 and she would like to get more into gaming. However, she is the sensitive, artistic type and does not like shooters or too violent games. I promised her I would get something and I don't know what exactly. I am thinking either Final Fantasy 13 when it comes out or Folklore since both are more artistic and focused on story but I would be grateful for your opinions.
Might want to get her Flower.

BTW what level of violent are you talking about on a scale of 1 -10, a 1 being the offspring of Gandhi and Mother Teresa holding a newborn kitten, and 10 being Gear's of War meets Manhunt meets Hitler (yeah I know Godwin's Law)

Sims, Tycoon games (rollercoaster, prison etc), Mass Effect 1 (depends if she'll tolerate a bit of violence), XBLA puzzle games and portal. Try those out.

I would have suggested American McGee's Alice (female protagonist), but it's fairly violent, though it has a fantasy landscape & timeless cartoony appeal that's deffinately artsy.

Get her this PC game called "Aveyond," it will cost you all of $7, & if she likes it, there's a whole series of them. It's kinda like the classic 2D Zelda & Final Fantasy games. You can buy it at Amaranth Games or BigFish games.

There's always "The Sims."

There's also this VERY artsy game called "The Path," a goth version of Little Red Riding Hood. I don;t know if it's violent, but it's grim. I think it was a $10 downloadable.

Speaking of grim, there's "American McGee's Grimm" & other episodic game series like "Sam & Max," "SBCG4AP," "Wallace & Gromitt," & "Tales of Monkey Island." They're all funny, unviolent, & very artsy. You can get these at GameTap or TellTale Games. Just buy her an episode, if she likes it, she can buy the rest herself.

Another artsy game girls like is the "Nights into Dreams" games.

& lastly, "Silent Hill."
