A selection of childhood favourites, once they hit the PS2 I lost all love for Spyro, Rayman and Crash Bandicoot.

EDIT: Oh yes Final Fantasy as well. Unless Versus XIII is a diamond-farting wonder Square-Enix has lost me...

RPGs. Years ago I hammered FFVII. My next JRPG was FFX, and I was less than impressed. WRPG-wise, I adored Morrowind and, even though I put a lot of time into them, found Oblivion and Fallout 3 to be dull and soulless.

It seems I'm stuck in the past and am now content to heavily modify Microsoft Flight Simulator 10 just to see what my rig can take. More a technological-fettler than the relaxed and casual sit-down gamer of old :/

Doom... love the first two games and my love of them was enough to get me to buy Doom 3 brand new, even though I hadn't really liked an id game since Doom 2.

And now I hear Doom IV is coming up and I can safely say it won't be on my Christmas list.

I could probably add Force Unleashed to that, although it really only held my interest about three quarters of the way through the first game. From the demo of the second game, it looks like they streamlined it a bit, turned the volume up to 11, and have basically created a Jedi murder simulator, as you're so insanely over-powered that they've eradicated all semblance of a challenge from the game.

Total War, after Medieval 2 it just seems to not have a soul anymore.
Have to agree a little here, might just be that it was my preferred setting, but after it they just feel kinda blah. Empire just feels like every country is a copy of every other one save 1 unit, and napolean really doesn't seem much diffrent than empire.

I had a fleeting interest in Halo, and tried to acquire a taste for Final Fantasy. And to my amazement, I've actually lost much of my interest in Pokemon .__.

The Sonic series. I just don't care anymore. I seemed to be smart enough to abandon ship at Shadow the Hedgehog, so I didn't have to get dissapointed by 06. All the other ones mentioned, I either never played or still have interest.

Medal of Honor. I had fond memories of the earlier Xbox ones, but the new one looks like a boatload of mediocre.

Warcraft. Not the exxtravaganza that was WC 3 mind you, I loved it. Excellent story, check. In-depth and well written characters? Check. Sure, it was An RTS and focused less on the story and more on massing knights, but It was still a fun and gripping strategy game. But I never really managed to get into WoW, and have since then had to get most of my Warcraft Fix from Wiki's and the friends who do play. "Whats that you say, your killing off all of my favorite characters for boss fights?" Yeah, pass.

World of Warcraft has completely killed my interest in Warcraft.

I say that, but I'd still probably come running back if they ever announced Warcraft 4.

Sonic. Unleashed was the final straw of afwul cameras and controls for me.

Call of Duty's starting to smell funny now, after the awful-ness of Modern Warfare 2, I'm starting to feel their re-making the same games, only slightly more oranger.

Grand Theft Auto. 3/VC/SA are fantastic games, San Andreas Multiplayer is probably my most played game, but GTA 4 is just crap, for so many reasons, i.e. they sucked out all the fun vehicles and added 'Driv3r realism'. I didn't even bother with the expansions.

Also Pokémon. R/B/Y/G/S/C/R/S/E (Jesus, that looks weird) are great games, and maybe the newer DS ones are good too or even better, but I just can't be bothered playing the same basic games over again. I guess I'll never relive the feeling of excitement and eager anticipation I had when I bought my copy of Pokémon blue when it was new out for my old black and White game boy. 'Sadfrog.jpg'.

Oh yeah and after reading some other posts, Medal of Honour. I liked Rising Sun and Frontlines on PS2, but they're just releasing the same things again with 50% more Call of Duty stolen content, and updated graphics. Yawn.

Splinter Cell. I loved the first two, and also Chaos Theory to some extent, but after that, It seems to have gone downhill, and Conviction was just too easy and lame.
