The Final Fantasy series, there's just something missing from the newer games. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it bums me out.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 killed it for me. I guess if I still gamed on console, I would still be buying the games. But MW2 came out right when I was starting on PC again.

Splinter Cell: Double Agent was ok, but just didn't feel right for some reason. Conviction looks terrible. "Hai guyz, lets take out all teh realism and replace it with redonkulous tag+kill sequences 8D"

I'm really surprised no one has said Guitar Hero yet. That got boring after 3.

I'll also go with the majority with Halo and Pokemon.

Resident Evil. The only motivation for playing the games other than RE4 is for the scares, and they just became too predictable and diluted.

Call of Duty

Sonic

Tomb Raider

Silent Hill almost went with the above with the release of Homecoming, but Shattered Memories is a really under-rated gem. The little I've seen of SH8 looks promising as well.

Age of Empires. After Age of Empires II (and expansions) It was soo epic.. Good memories and all. Its like... Its like if you loose your beloved teddy bear and then your parents buy an identical one. ITS JUST NOT THE SAME!

Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, and everything else that Nintendo thinks is so kawaii that it deserves 32 remakes and a POS sequel.

Kirby can stay though, Kirby is fucking awesome.

Not necessarily a franchise, but an entire genre. I've grown tiresome of the FPS genre with only 2 or 3 shooters that I am remotely interested in given their appealing fun factor. Everything else feels boring, derivative, and just playing it too safe. Shooters just aren't fun anymore, they've just lost something that the shooters of old had.

Pokemon I lost interest after silver and gold and absolutely despise the franchise. They are so terribly samey and boring I hardly understand how people keep eating them up. Damn them and their good job at conditioning us from a young age.

Mario I don't care for much, I'll still play em but I'm not sitting on the edge of my seat for the next game.

I'm sure there are others but these seem to be the biggest culprits.

I'm more of a Fighter/RPG guy and they eat up a ton of my time. RPGs have to best value for my money given then length and possible re playability. And fighters are just pure competitive fun, far more so than shooters. The constant strive to become a better fighter, and the intense one on one nature of the game offers an experience like no other. Competitive multiplayer in its purest and best.

I'm going with Pokemon as well. If you catch'em all once or twice, you don't have the motivation to catch'em all again and collecting them feels like a chore.

Tony Hawks, Need for Speed, Final Fantasy and recently Call of duty.

They have just died over the years, they used to be my favourite games

Command & Conquer

It started with Red Alert 2 being way too corny, with RA1 being waaay more serious and gritty, even with all the crazyness going on around. Then after roughly 12 years cnc3, and it was ok, then kw, which sucked, ra3, which was cool to play but the story was more than kinda silly.

And now with that thing they call cnc4....gah.

Done with the Mana series.

Every time I see what they do next, I cringe.

Shame, really. Legend of Mana stands as my second favorite game of all time.

Kingdom Hearts lost me when the plot got epically fucked over because I decided not to play that piece of shit Chain of Memories, which seems to have contained a lot of big plot points.
