Dance Dance Revolution. Ever since Supernova, it's been going down the shitter, and due to being used to playing ITG 12s and 13s and NM charts in Pump It Up, the older games I used to like no longer entertain me since there's no sense of challenge (unless you count pad errors [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROUSRavPbjk]).
Ever since I played ITG, DDR died. And when DDR Extreme tried(and failed) at the mod marathon mode(ITG did it WAY better), the series was dead. Then the killing blow was when Konami sued ROXOR and acquired In The Groove, they thought it was a good idea to add the mods again. It failed so bad. In The Groove 1 and 2 was far superior.

Banjo Kazooie. Nuts 'n Bolts wasn't anything like it's predecessors. It barely felt like the chaacters involved had to be them. I'd be willing to forgive if they made a REAL Banjo-Threeie, though. Like the trailer implied.

And now people just hack ITG cabinets as they wish. The community actually benefited from the lawsuit more than they were harmed since technically speaking, ITG wasn't a licensed game, and some forums that once banned for hacking discussion were now indifferent or had guides that explained the process of putting songs into an arcade cabinet.

At least Pump is still good on its own, even though the unlocking system and World Max is stupid as hell. Not everybody can get a Pumbi or get past the first area since they have level 5s next to 1s. It's so fucking broken and disjointed.

*facepalm* I forgot another one. I would just add it to my last post, but this one is special enough that it deserves its own space...Pokemon.

I was a complete Poke'freak during the late 90's. I watched every episode of the TV show, collected hundreds of cards and figurines, shook in fanboyish excitement every time a new game was released, had Pokemon cereal for breakfast, Pokemon Mac n' Cheese for dinner and of course any time not spent doing those things was spent glued to my Gameboy playing one of the games. To this day I can still recall the plot details of around the first 20 episodes of the TV show, despite that I haven't watched them in about 10 years. I loved Pokemon that much.

But alas, I eventually hit puberty. As time passed so did my interest in collecting cute little animals. But as a game series I still occasionally find myself blowing the dust off my Game Boy Color and giving Blue, Yellow, or Crystal a playthrough. (I used to own Gold, but a 'friend' nicked it from me when my back was turned) But I have no interest in the newer games. Most of them are spin-offs that are typically regarded as feces, and the main entries into the franchise look almost exactly the same as they did back then.

It'll always be nostalgic memorabilia to me, at the very least.

The artist that were in ITG moved to Pump it Up. I'm not that good at it. D&B(or an arcade) is too far.

Sonic.

I simply cringe and shake my head in disgusted whenever Sonic is mentioned unironically. Partially because of all the socially awkward furries that draw pornography of my (and their) childhood(s), and partially because none of the 3D games were any good. Now the series has been reduced to anime-like storylines and cameos in Mario games.

Fare thee well, little blue mammal.

Hmm... I don't exactly hate the Zelda games, but they feel like the lost their wonder and fantasy. Probably has something to do with me getting older

The Sonic games. I loved the early ones, but when I played one of the more recent games...Well, let's just say that my thoughts were along the lines of "How in the nine hells did this thing avoid getting cancelled?"

Call of duty for me. I was such a big fan until... Mw2 (pukes a little). I now see the series for what it really is... generic shooters that wank off Saving Private Ryan, and Red Dawn.
Yes, I am going to be "that guy" and complain about you hating the game. I can understand red dawn but don't see the conection at all to Saving private Ryan. Why are people getting mad at the game being to cinematic? The complaints that I have mostly heard about singleplayer is it has to many "unrealistic moments" which is basically saying the game is to epic in a way. Isn't that what games should be striving for? Putting that epic feeling into something? Sure, it isn't entirely original and noncliche, but you guys are complaining about realism in a videogame. You wanna see real warfare? Drive around in a humvee keeping order. Maybe it's just me, but I would rather stick to unrealistic situations.

I do understand that the game had plenty of technical problems and a broken multiplayer. But seriously, it is getting hated for all the wrong reasons(in my defense this is the first time I have told someone off about the game). Rant finished.

Pokemon, Mario, Sonic, Zelda, (pretty much every Nintendo franchise, actually. They've been the same game for 20 years).

Seriously. I cannot play and original Nintendo franchises anymore. I beat Super Mario Galaxy 100% (121 stars with Mario AND Luigi) and I can't say I had much fun doing that.

OH YEAH AND COCK OF DUTY.

Counter-Strike has absolutely no plot of any sort and you know what? It is at least 10x better than MW2.

Just saying.

Sadly, Kingdom Hearts. It was great the first three games, then they come out with sequels Ala by Star Wars-sing the franchise and making us have to play characters that served no purpose to us before, so why would we want to play them now?

Metal Gear Solid. It's not that the series isn't fun, since I still find myself playing the first three quite a bit, actually; It is more or less after 4 that I said to myself "The end to a great series" and then all these rediculous sequels come about, and again, Star Wars the series to make me hate it a little bit more.

Was there a point to that? Good for you to have an opinion. Now you should focus on expressing it in a slightly less idiotic way.

I used to love the Pokemon series, but then it just got way too complicated with game after game and new pokemon generation after new generation. Needless to say, I still adore the early games, but the I can't be bothered with the more recent ones.

Clarification: is this thread a "site games series's that we adored but loath what the sequels have become" thread? If so:

What the hell happened to Crash Bandicoot? That used to be an awesome series! I tend to place the fall of the series at Crash Bash, feel free to debate that one with me.

I think that series was already in the crapper by that point, as fun as Sonic Adventure 2 was (I never played the original on the Dreamcast, I played the GameCube remake).

CoD. *cough Modern Warfare 2
Spyro. Do I really need to say? the gaming style changed so much, I'm into new things but really? - They alsoused another company to develop it.
Medal of Honour. This is the game that first went for the concept of WW2. Now we have to jump out of parachutes and use a glitchy Pysichs engine.
Sonic the freaking Hedgehog. Such a stupid concept, such a good game, such an awful series.
