I can deal with criticism but I'll defend the honor of these ones against any unjust comment:

Thief 1-3
Undying
Wheel of Time
Vagrant Story <----
Xenogears
Gabriel Knight
Condemned 1
Wild Arms 2
Last Blade 1&2
Classic SNK stuff (SS, KoF, AoF, FF)
Never again have I found a game of this caliber by accident.
I got Vagrant Story from the bottom of a bin. It sits proudly at the fore of my PS collection (It still has that demo disc too)

I'd say Rome: Total War, Red Alert 2 and Tiberian Sun. Despite the occasional stuck on a wall/building bug RTW is just too fun. You two games in one! A turn based civilization builder and a real time bronze age combat simulator. I love the focus on formations and tactical strategy. Especially the turn them into human pincushions option. I love that strategy >:) And Red Alert 2 is just full of win. Tiberian Sun as well. How can you go wrong with JAMES EARL JONES as a character? Come on! Not to forget Kane. He needs no explanation. He only needs your loyalty to the Brotherhood. Long live Kane!

Those who rip on the following will immediately be challenged to a gladiatorial-broad-sword-duel-to-your-death.

The Jak and Daxter series (THATS how you do third person combat Jak's 2 & 3)
Sly cooper 1 & 2 (3...lame. Except for the pirate part)
Oddworld
Pikmin
Wind Waker
Super Metroid (f*** you Other M... Fuck you to the grave)

Probably a few others so I'll keep my broadsword handy.

any turns on FFix and the shear force of the pain they receive turns back time and makes it as if it never happens (dont call me up on that..)

also soulcalibur... but less actively. i dont realise how defensive i am about that game but i just wont allow anyone to talk badly about something so OOOOOHHHHHH fun

I would defend Portal and Psychonauts to the bitter end. That being said, I should never have to, because they're too wonderful to warrant criticism :)

I hate when any game is criticized or lampooned unjustly. This includes Halo: Reach (even though I've never played a Halo game) and Sonic and the Black Knight (even though it sucks).

But these in particular:
- The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (wasn't afraid to be unique and take a few chances, while still delivering a satisfying sequel to the greatest game ever. It doesn't seem to get the recognition it deserves, and yet the Zelda series desperately needs another one like it.)
- Sonic and the Secret Rings (in my opinion, one of the few great Sonic games since Sonic Adventure 2, and yet people lump it into the same pile as Unleashed and Black Knight. Ugh.)
- Quest 64 (why is everything I find on the internet about this game so negative? I loved it as a kid, and I recently replayed it and loved it all over again. It took chances and wasn't just some Final Fantasy clone, yet that's what people at the time apparently hated it for. It wasn't perfect, but it did so many things right. It's pretty sad, really.)

Modern Pokemon games.

I will defend each new generation from the hordes of "They should have stopped at 151!" idiots.

Oblivion.

To get me to play for 4,000 hours, they have to have done something right. And that something was in the class creation that allows for nearly unlimited gameplay styles. And a fantastic soundtrack.

Astro Boy: Omega Factor.

Take Astro Boy. Somehow make an awesome 2D action game. Somehow shove an awesome story into it. And do it all on the GBA. But hey, it's from the makers of Gunstar Heroes. I expected as much.

Pajama Sam/Putt Putt/Freddie Fish/Spy Fox/etc.

Edu-tainment done right. Really good old PC games for kids.
Aside from Astro Boy: Omega Factor, since I never even heard of it, pretty much this.

Though I would totally add Golden Sun to this. Best RPG I have ever played.

Kingdom Hearts. 1 and 2 at least, Chain of Memories was a bit pants and I haven't played Birth by Sleep enough to judge.

Golly, I hope they make a third. Y'know, a proper third.
What he said but with a lot more use of !!!

and i'd but Kingdom hearts in bold capital letters.

Couldn't care less what peoples say about games that i like. That said - id put "Grim Fandango" atop the "Worshiping Altar" and sprinkle it with "Monkey Island", "Dungeon Keeper 2", "Populous (the last one), "Morrowind", "Baldurs Gate 2 (and/or first NWN)", "Black&White", "Tiberian Sun" and "Beyond Good and Evil". Simply classics. Games of the second (or third, or first, or w/e) Golden Age of Gaming. Everybody who played those games loved them (pretty sure?).

All those "shooty shooty kill kill" games feel the same to me, smudged into one huge blob with arms, tentacles and guns sticking out of it...

Don't know anything about consoles and i regret never seeing Castlevania - sounds and looks as if it could've been in my "to worship" pile.
